Publisher's Summary

Police officers shot

Detective Michael Bennett arrests an infamous Mexican crime lord in a deadly chase that leaves Bennett's lifelong friend, Hughie McDonough, dead. From jail, the prisoner vows to rain epic violence down upon New York City - and to get revenge on Michael Bennett.

Judges murdered

To escape the chaos, Bennett takes his 10 kids and their beautiful nanny, Mary Catherine, on a much-needed vacation to his family's cabin near Newburgh, New York. But instead of the calm and happy town he remembers from growing up, they step into a nightmare worse than they could have ever imagined. Newburgh is an inferno of warring gangs, and there's little the police - or Bennett - can do to keep the children safe.

Target: Michael Bennett

As violence overwhelms the state, Bennett is torn between protecting his hometown and saving New York City. A partner in his investigations, federal prosecutor Tara McLellan brings him new weapons for the battle - and an attraction that endangers his relationship with Mary Catherine.

A no-holds-barred, pedal-to-the-floor, action-packed novel, Michael Bennett is James Patterson at his most personal and most thrilling best.

Bad ending

Would you listen to I, Michael Bennett again? Why?

Narration was much better on this one than on "Burn". The pitch of the voices makes the story. However, the ending left too many unanswered questions.

Continuing the Michael Bennett Series

Where does I, Michael Bennett rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Probaby an 8

Have you listened to any of Bobby Cannavale and Jay Snyder ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

Any additional comments?

My comment is not about the book but rather the fact that trying to listen to it was difficult because the narration kept dropping off , so missed some of the content. None of the other books I have downloaded have done this, so had to be something wrong with this particular book

Slow start.

Had to put it down a few times, as it did hold my interest. As a last resort listen, started it again. It got better, but not until chapter 59

It's only half a book

I like the Michael Bennett book series. The story moves fast the family is endearing. I was a little disappointed that this was part one of a two-part story. Looking forward to the conclusion hopefully it's not part two of a three-part series.
