Publisher's Summary

Are all rules broken when it comes to playing a game? Washed ashore a South Carolina beach, Lois Steinberg learns her shelter, an old plantation house, was scheduled to host a "Catch Me" game convention. When the cook is the first one found murdered, the game environment instantly morphs into a terrifying evening reminiscent of And Then There Were None. This audio book has won the Platinum Award in the 2017 Hermes Creative International Competition.

I was provided this audiobook through Audiobook Boom at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review.

Fun listen but I'd have enjoyed it more had I been able to hear the voices clearer over the wind, thunder, and other various environmental sounds. While some may prefer added sound affects, I do not. Listening while driving my commute, there were several times I thought my car was making suspicious noises and had to turn off the audio to confirm I still had a safe drive. And it's a 2014 car. LOL That being said, the story did grab my attention and I had no idea whodunit. It had a very busy ending, tying up all the ends, but it was finally a neatly wrapped package.

    "A pretty entertaining catch"

This audiobook is much more of a performance than you typically get. Overall, I enjoyed it. The different actors voicing the various characters was a nice touch. Some people thought the sound effects were annoying but I rather enjoyed the immersive effect. I thought the overall production quality was quite high. The only thing which prevented me from giving 5 stars on the performance was the narrator. Unfortunately, I found him to be over-dramatic. His tone just always seemed intense, regardless of what was going on. The story itself was a fun, campy kind of tale. Overall, a pretty good way to spend a few hours.

    "Classic Murder Mystery"

Catch Me If You Can is like Clue on steroids! If you love murder mysteries, this is a classic and a must read.

The characters have a depth that draws you in, and plenty of twists and turns and red herrings that will keep you guessing and may even surprise you in the end.

I found myself hooked from the beginning where Lois washes ashore at a South Carolina beach resort during a hurricane. Suspicions abound as murders ensue and bodies stack up.

The audio version is performed magnificently and is truly theater! Each character is distinctly vivid and brought to life with their own voice.

Miss Mae's Catch Me If You Can is definitely a must read!

    "VERY ROBUST! CAMPY BUT GOOD"

Entertaining, somewhat campy but I do enjoy a good performance for the brain...some elements were over the top but all in all pretty good.
Never read anything by author before but I believe this is a new type for her.

What made the experience of listening to Catch Me If You Can the most enjoyable?

It moved quickly and held your attention throughout.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Catch Me If You Can?

When we learn that Lois' brother was hired to kill her.

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No but he was excellent. Great diction, cadence and very knowledgeable about the characters personalities.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The sexual tension between Lois & Victor was good without graphic sex was very appreciated.

    Any additional comments?

Thank you for not using profane language. I was able to enjoy the entire story.

    Catch Me If You Can
    : Miss Mae

This is my first listen of this author. It is an amazing mystery set with a new game, 10 strangers, and a hurricane. The action is non stop as the characters develop and everyone hopes to win the game. The personalities of each character are different , from amusing, scary, brilliant, all mysterious!!!

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. The extra sound effects where first class. Stephen Mendel , Dave Mallow , J.W. Terry , Toni Attell , Robin Riker portrayed an exciting and memorable performance!!!!! I want more of this group of performers.

    "Audio effects amazing!"

Suspenseful story that I enjoyed hearing coming to life by the wonderful, talented voice actors & narrator. Emotions were well conveyed throughout the story line. Loved hearing the background effects to feel as if in the room with the characters. Will enjoy listening to again!

"Real Life Clue, Death and All"

    *4 1/2 Roses/Stars*

    Rated R

What if you washed ashore, on a random island, in a storm? What if the people on that island, where basically insane, or at least, it would seem? Stuck with a group of people playing a dangerous came of "Catch Me" for a convention, it turns dangerously realistic when one of the people end up dead. Forced to not only prove she isn't the killer - as the loner of the group - Lois must survive this island, if she can.

She isn't the only person I feel bad for, honestly. While her situation is any traveler's nightmare, the convention group didn't sign up for a real murder mystery. They are just a group of rich, bored people who wanted to play a game, and have a vacation. A real murder spooks them all, and you can't help but wonder who would do it, will it happen again, and will Stuart put on another "Catch Me" game convention in the future. Most of his guests, I would think, would vote he didn't.

This is probably one of my favorite audiobooks so far. With multiple actors for the characters, instead of one person having to play men, women, and children, this book has a full cast of voice for the characters, making it only a step away from putting the book into film. Each actor did well, lending their voices to make this story jump to life, and send chills down your spine. With a well-written story, they definitely had a good story to act out. It will be difficult to listen to another audiobook with only one narrator now - this book has spoiled me!

If you're a fan of audiobooks, suspenseful mysteries, or good stories in general, I would highly recommend this one. You won't be disappointed.

*I was given a complimentary eCopy of this audiobook, from the author, to read in exchange for an honest review
