Publisher's summary
The Departed gets a modern upgrade with the injection of cybercrime and four sexy Irish mob brothers fighting to stay alive amidst drug deals and FBI probes.
Cian MacFarlane is the oldest son of Chicago's reigning crime family. Now the defacto boss of the organization after his father's retirement, Cian is feared by his enemies and revered by his brothers. But what if Cian isn't all he seems to be? What if his end game isn't to maintain his father's empire but to topple it? As the MacFarlanes broker a deal with the owner of the world's largest dark website, Cian brokers a deal with the FBI. But when he meets Lila Rodriguez, a genius hacker working with the dark web, his feelings for her only make life more complex.
Determined to save his brothers, even if it means sacrificing himself, Cian lives moment to moment in a deadly underworld of cybercrime, drug deals, federal agents, and a vengeful parent who won't hesitate to remind his oldest son what it means to be a MacFarlane. Through it all, Cian fights for his brothers to make it out of Chicagoland crime. But will the pieces fall into place before his breath of deceit is discovered?

Eight years ago I fell into a secret summer fling with my best friend’s little sister before our lives went in different directions. Now, I’m the grumpy to Juliet’s sunshine on a popular dating podcast we host, and when a wealthy fan gives us a charming coastal cottage as the biggest thank you ever, we head to the town where I grew up to give it a makeover. And find the house has only one bed. Located under a mirrored ceiling.

one hell of a rollercoaster ride
This book has twists and turns that keep you wondering and turning to the next page. I love how all the characters, while dealing with their own issues, are intricately entwined to the overall action. I hate that it ended in a cliffy but only because I can't wait to see what happens next!

Love the Suspenseful side of this one!
Four brothers trying to make a living, it's not hard when you are a MacFarlane. Cian is the boss of the Dublin Devils, the Irish mob in Chicago. Keeping his brothers alive is the hardest job he has and he will do anything for them.
While they own a few legal businesses, they still deal in illegal ones which is why there are so many reasons to watch your and your brother's backs. Not only is the FBI breathing down your neck, but Cian also has to deal with other cartels, mobs, and anyone trying to take over your territory. While his father, who used to be in charge, wants Cian to run things as he did, Cian doesn't want war and killing to be the only way to keep the Dublin Devils going.
Meeting Lila of Rogue has rocked him a little, she is beautiful and has him feeling things he can't afford to be feeling. While Lila sets up an online forum to see their product online, Lila finds herself wanting to spend more time with Cian.
Cian wants to protect those he loves and to keep them safe and now that includes Lila. He wants to send her away to protect her. Will Lila go, so she will be safe? Can Cian protect everyone he cares about? Will he find out who is betraying him with his father? What will his father do next?
I loved everything about this story except that it ended, I need MORE NOW! If you love a great mob story, then you need to read this one, it is perfect. It had me from the very first page and I couldn't put it down until the end because I needed to know how it ended. But let me tell you there is one hell of a cliff-hanger.
