My Human Pet by Olympia Black is a great alien romance. Amber Lee Connors and James Ford did an excellent job with the narration. My Human Pet is the first book in Whisper from the Imperial Cage. The story is entertaining, interesting, enjoyable, engaging, and more. The end is bad but another than at it’s good. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. Highly recommend.

brutal

this was brutal to listen to. about halfway through I wanted to return it. the gut twisting things that happened and the way the story unfolds I couldn't stop myself from finishing it and I'm so glad I did . communication is key in any relationship and sadly the lack of humanity in some of the other humans hits hard. in hard times most of us would band together is the hope but sadly not the reality. as demonstrated. it was a good story.

Audible needs more BDSM erotica like this

I find most of the erotica on Audible to be quite boring, honestly. This was significantly better than average.

Note that there is no real plot to this, apart from the arc of Ensley's life as a human pet.

This will chiefly appeal to those with kinky interests related to pet play, D/s, bondage, exhibitionism, S&M.

It reminds me of some parts of Anne Rice's "Sleeping Beauty" stories.

Erotica with a plot

I received a copy of this book at my request in exchange for a fair review.

I normally put the above at the end, but in this case I wanted it there because I had a bit of back and forth with the author who mentioned that some people were put off by the sexual nature of the book and that they were having trouble writing a blurb.

This book came up as sci-fi and it certainly is, but it's also probably fair to call it erotica or 'hard-core romance'. That doesn't mean it jumps from sex scene to sex scene with plot thrown in as filler. I think given the universe that's been created, the plot is the main point and the sexual nature is a side effect.

This is a very well written book and the narration is superb. As long as the sexual nature doesn't cause your mind to snap closed I think most who enjoy sci-fi can agree this is a well executed story.

Totally Unexpected and Shockingly Good!

I was completely taken by surprise and I could not stop listening. I expected an erotic little story about aliens and pet play but this was so much more. It really made me think. Olympia Black created new species’, new civilizations, new societies with new customs, new rules and made it all make sense! She made me feel for these aliens, made me understand their world, made me laugh, made me cry, man did she make me cry. She ripped my heart out, and then righted the world again. I was enthralled! Word to the wise, while a bit of a slow burn initially, once that fire gets stoked this one’s filled with no hold’s bared naughty erotic goodness, so hold onto your lug nuts! Adding to the fun, the narration was beyond wonderful! I really loved everything about this one!

Disappointing Ending

I loved the book until the last two minutes. The end of the book left me hanging. I needed an epilogue to satisfy my curiosity. The narrators were very good. Who knew aliens had British accents?

Good, but really made me cry

This was a very intense read, good but overall depressed me. A human is taken from earth and baught by an alien to be a pet (but a pet that they have sex with and can reproduce with). This alien species has been taught that human have only primal thinking, require training and want sex all the time. Her owner, over time realizes this is not the case. Especially after their child is taken to return to his home planet. The ending is happy enough. As a mom the baby being taken was hard for me to get over and had me crying through the last half of the book. The audio is great, they do a really good job.

Wonderfully Entertaining Story!

My Human Pet was a book I very much enjoyed reading so when the opportunity arose to listen to the audio book i was all in.
The story centers around it’s female lead Ensley who has been abducted from Earth and in the new alien universe she finds herself in is not considered a sentient being of any importance but only as a pet, and a much prized one.
I enjoyed the dual POV narration of Amber Lee Connors and James Ford whose character tones and inflections brought the intensity of the story to life.
For Ensley finding her way in this new reality filled with emotion, drama, a little humor, intrigue, and spice, will not be an easy one but the journey I took with her made for more than a satisfying listen.

Ailen Abduction Romance

My Human Pet by Olympia Black is an alien abduction romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Amber Lee Connors and James Ford.

This is Olympia’s debut novel and she knocked it out of the park. I loved the relationship between Seb and Ensley. I look forward to reading more of Olympia’s work in the future.

Amber and James did an amazing job on the narration. They really brought the story to life.

What a read or listen

This story drags you in and doesn't let go we meet the Lovely and intelligent Ensley artfully brought to life by the talented and beautiful Amber Lee Conners her performance as Ensley is outstanding she definitely is my favorite narrator now to find more from Olivia Black
