This seems too good to be true.

Interesting Storyline

I found this storyline interesting and enjoyable; it was good to see how love can bloom out of difficult situations. The narrators did a good job with characters.

Alien Manumitter

This story is not what I expected. How a planet can make a woman who been though hell and make it worse. As I heard this story all I could think of is how can an race of aliens do this? Not just the one who took her but all the ones around her. Then make her? Makes you never want to meet an one. By the end of the story I wanted to know what happens to her but I wanted to hear that the kidnapping had stoped but that didn’t happen and poor Lilly goes thought more pain to marry the person she has to be with or dies.

Great science-fiction with a Romance

I listened to this book from start to finish as it really held my interest. The world building and depth of character is much more elaborate than what one would normally expect from this type of book, Both the hero and the heroine have their faults and make their mistakes but it makes the book so much more interesting and even the steamy scenes had some unusual twists. I knew it was a HEA but despite this it managed to surprise me and I can highly recommend it to anybody looking for a bit more than the usual formula. Narration is also very good.

Overall A great listen

This was honestly a great spin on the mate situation with aliens. The plot was really good and I had issues with getting anything done around the house because i would become so engrossed in the storyline. my only issue with the story is that the female after being told a bazillion times that the situation is real and not a fantasy she still towards the end is unsure (eye roll please). i understand that it comes into play for the third challenge, but I wish it was dialed back a bit. The amount of times I eyerolled at this female was kind of ridiculous. I would definitely recommend with the caution that the female is an ungrateful idiot.

Usual formula

I read a lot of sci-fi romance and they pretty much follow the same formula, alien meets earthling, alien falls in love with the earthling leading to an HEA ending. I look for any unique way that the HEA happens. This story may qualify. I don’t recall reading anything similar to these events. However, the only reason why I finished this book was to see how the HEA happens. It is different but not so entertaining to me. If this should be a series I would not pursue it. There was one part in mid book where two or three chapters were all about multiple erotic scenes. It got boring for me, I ultimately started fast forwarding through those chapters. The erotic scenes should be a mere appetizer not a case of gluttony. The two narrators were good, I just feel like they didn’t have a great story to narrate.

The fact that Jack Calihan was one of the narrators is what attracted me to this book. I love sci-fi romance, but for me, this book was just OK. Jack, however, did a great job with the narration. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

At least it's original...

This is just about the strangest sify romance I've ever read. It was not for me at all. The beginning of their sexual relationship was dragged out, annoying, awkward and not very sexy to me. But the language is not bad and if these sex scenes floats your boat, then this book might be for you. At least it's original!
