Proper Order of Series

The proper order is Book 5, 6, 4, 3, 1 and then 2. This way there are no spoilers and the relationships are better appreciated and understood. I do not understand why they were not orders this way to begin with. 🤷🏻‍♀️

book is out of order

This book is really the 4th in the series, so I plan to wait for all of them to be on audible and then figure out which one might be first.
3 of the sisters are married at the beginning of this book, so it is a little confusing as there is some kind of "curse" about meeting a strange man on their street. I think this is the 4th book, so be warned if you are like me and want to have the order correct.
The story is good , but a little contrived. The heroine is in danger and the hero has to save her. I did not really understand why the villans wanted to hurt the heroine, except for the fact that they seemed to just go crazy all of a sudden...pretty convenient!
there is a constant repeat of the overly large dog jumping up and licking the heroine. Several times just makes it seem stupid. A good editor would have helped this book to be a little tighter. I worry about the storyline when it is a self-published author.
The story was not great, but not the worst I have read. The narrator does an okay job, but I don't think has the right Scottish accent. After listening to Rosalyn Landor no one seems to sound authentique!

delightful

the characters are fun and interesting, the story moves along at a very nice place and the narration is spot on. this one leaves a smile on your face, you'll need to find you angst elsewhere if that is more your cup o tea.

I loved the narration and the accents were great

Great story, alpha highlands male and sweet English rose come together in a great story. Hollis McCarthy brings it all together is a delightful narration. The story is well-written and makes me want to read more from this author. I truly enjoyed this book and give the performance two thumbs up. Worth your time, worth the credit.

Confused

I like this series however be warned that they are mis-numbered. It is a bummer to read book 1, really enjoy it then move on to book 2 and realize that books 2, 3, 4, and 5 actually occur in reverse order.

I enjoyed it but...

A modern sexy romance disguised as an historical romance. I think the author was trying for bawdy but over stepped the mark. I want my historical romances to be true to the time in which they are set. I am unlikely to listen to the other books in the series.

So disappointing

First in the series- maybe it gets better. Could have done so much more with the Royal Society and the struggles women have had in being recognized for their work. ***SPOILER ALERT***. Could have done so much more with the ending -use of dynamite. I’m sad to say that the narration was uneven, the Scottish accent was overdone.

Lighthearted Romance

This is a fun read with interesting characters and a good storyline.
I definitely think that the narrator hurt rather than helped the book. The Scottish brogue was great, but Lily always sounded silly, which she was not. She was an intellectual person with good reasoning skills that she used to get out of tight jams. I was very disappointed.

Enjoyable stories. Strong, intelligent heroines and heros.

This is a fun book!

This was a fun book. The leading lady was fun, funny, whitty, intelligent. Which are qualities to be frowned upon in the era. The hero matched her qualities. It was a lightweight amusing story. Not too steamy but it did reference on sex a lot. Listen for yourself, I'll bet you love it too.

oh dear

The accents were terrible, and they wandered around/switched to other accents, and too many words pronounced in USA not regency London.
Plus the usual errors in the books written by USA authors about food, customs and distances.
This is probably a pleasant listen for someone who is not a native English speaker with a background of reading Heyer.

Worst Scottish accent I have ever heard

Being Scottish myself I have heard lots of accents of my native tongue, but I have to say this is definitely the worst. It’s so bad I only got half wY through chapter 1. I don’t know if the book would have been any good as I couldn’t listen to that. Narrator for more than 5 mins. If you decide to go ahead with this book then I wish you luck on reaching the end
