Story
"My Irish grandfather, Thomas Lawrence Downey, was a great storyteller. I never tired of sitting on his knee - and later, when I was a bit too big, sitting at his feet with one of my baby sisters on his knee - listening to his wonderful tall tales. Among the stories I loved the best were the ones about the Irish - and the Downey family in particular. In those tales, I'm afraid, 'dramatic flair' and artistic liberties took over for fact. But as any good storyteller knows, to embellish is to make the tale interesting, especially to a young Tomie."

Or worse, if she can’t bring herself to speak up, like sometimes happens when facing bullies at school? Story
The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Anyone sensible knew that the Ickabog was just a myth to scare children into behaving. But the funny thing about myths is that sometimes they take on a life of their own.

Glad I Purchased This Book!
I bought this book to listen to with my daughter, and I'm so glad I purchased it! The book is short and focuses on the daddy that Martin Luther King Jr. was, to his son. It is always important to connect with your children, regardless of what your other responsibilities are. Tomorrow is not promised, and children will remember who you were OR were not, to them, after you are gone. Thank you, sir, for sharing the memories of your father with us!!
