Publisher's Summary

I met the president's son when we were both young. Matthew Hamilton was handsome, polished, and intelligent. I'd never met a guy like him. He promised me that he'd never run for president. I promised that if he did, I'd be by his side. Two terms later, an invitation to join Matthew Hamilton's campaign is the most exhilarating opportunity I've ever experienced. I'm determined to make a difference; he is determined to win.

Focused on his goal, Matt is steadfast, ruthless, and disarming. All eyes are on him, and his popularity is surging. But soon the next possible president of the United States is possessing me in more ways than one - and despite the risks, I'm helpless to resist. We're stealing touches, stealing moments, and stealing away at night. But our chemical connection is quickly becoming dangerously combustive, putting not only my heart but Matt's chance at the presidency on the line.

Contains mature themes.

Yeah, And ...?

If you've ever had someone to tell you a story and when they were done you wondered what was the point of that, then that sums up "Mr. President." The story started off interesting enough but then went into the back story that lead to that point. The back story should have been summed up in one chapter and then gone on with the rest of the story that could have been completed in one book. The book ended on a cliffhanger that wasn't really. If this is a trilogy that drags on what could have been told in one book, then this will probably be the only book in this series I will listen to. This story has a great premise but this first book didn't have much substance.

The narrators were interesting and kept me listening until the disappointing end.

If I hadn't listened until the end, I would have returned it. The story was okay but not good enough that I want to listen to multiple weak books to find out what happens.

BORING...

H/h is so boring. Over all this book could've been so much more. The plot had so much potential and it just didn't deliver.
I felt no connection with H/h. Not to mention the sex scenes lacked luster. I even skipped the scenes.
IMO wait for the sell. Do not use a credit.

ok but a little disapointed

It was an "ok" audiobook. The dialog was a little boring, especially for the candidate's character. I expected more dramatic drama, but there wasn't any. And, as too often, the end of the book doesn't really complete the story, so stay tuned for the next in the series. The female narrator was pretty good, the male narrator was just ok.

Horrible editing and monotoned narration

Sedating monotones narration. Clumsy, very blotchy editing with obvious break and insertions of do-overs that were of an obvious faster speed. Back and forth speeds were so distracting that I couldn't focus on the story. Gave up before I completed Chapter 1. Wasted a credit but will. It waste another one.

Boring President

This book was a total bore. Everyone soiree so highly of this author but I do get all of the excitement over her writing. She drags everything out. I skipped to the end because I couldn't take it any longer. Pick another book/author this one is lame. #boring

Scandal comes to Audible!

This was a good listen about the Hero who is running for president has an affair with one of his interns. They both end up falling in love with each other. This also ends on a huge Cliffhanger. A good listen not as great as her Manwhore series so I was a little disappointed.

Scandalous

With the country's current political climate, I though this would make an interesting listen I was not disappointed. Matt is a young independent presidential candidate looking to make real change in the country. He the son of a former president. His character reminded me a lot of JFK jr because he was so charismatic and loved by the public; American royalty if we had it. Charlotte was also from a political family. This entire thing started with a letter she had written to Matt saying she would support him if he ran for president.

I really enjoyed this one. It was so scandalous and forbidden. I found myself imagining what it would be like in real life if an unmarried potential candidate was caught having an affair with someone on his team. His bachelorhood made their romance so forbidden. I could understand why he was so against having a relationship but I felt as though Matt were being selfish. You can't be a bachelor President, knowing that you can't give her what she deserves while also expecting her to still carry on a secret relationship. that was the big problem. However I loved both characters. I thought their chemistry was good and the issue at hand was believable. My only problem was the cliff hanger. I hope the next book comes to audible soon.

I think Isabelle Gordon was an okay narrator. Her delivery didn't bring a lot of passion to the story for me. We don't here from Matt very much; which means John Lane didn't get as much speaking time. From what I had heard, he did an okay job as well.

BORED OUT IF MY NIND😴😴😴😴😴

This book is very dull. There is no chemistry between the two. I am not sure what demographic would enjoy this book because it's entirely too slow for me. I will not finish!!! Narrators did what they could with this blah blah blah.

Love and American politics: works!

Not a stand-alone (but I knew that when I bought it). I found it well written and compelling. It had a good build-up to sex and love (friends to lovers, slow-burn) and those foundations made this a meaningful relationship to read about. I especially appreciated the hero, Matt, and heroine, Charlotte, for their strong feelings of love and duty towards the American people. Matt and Charlotte were admirable, mature characters I cared about.

The novel has a lot of sex-scenes in it, and I don’t need all that detail with that much frequency, but I still enjoyed the novel - enough to purchase book 2, Commander in Chief (White House Book 2), and I’m enjoying that book just as much. American politics is a little of a mystery to me (as I’m not American) but this two-novel set made it interesting as a back-drop to an ambitious love story about a Presidential candidate.

This was my first Katy Evans novel, and I can’t help but feel she loved these characters as they poured onto her page when she wrote them. Maybe all her books are like that – I don’t know. I’ll have fun finding out.

Oh Mr President 💕

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A light, easy read with no drama, just one super sexy and very stubborn take charge guy, Matthew Hamilton (running for President no less), and one star struck, young Aid, who has crushed on Matt since she was 11. It’s no wonder that she is unable to resist him, I don’t think I would have. Sadly there is no room in his life for a partner, lover or wife if he makes the Presidency. I understand his reasoning, not sure if it’s a solid reason, but hey-ho, what do I know. My heart broke for these two, and I could not understand why, during the campaign, they couldn’t have a relationship. I need their happy ending and I’m hoping I get it in the next book, which, needless to say, I’m 1-clicking as I type.
The narration, although good, wasn’t the best. I warmed immediately to Isabelle Gordon, she was a great Charlotte. Unfortunately John Lane didn’t work for me as Matt.

Wow It brought Charlotte and Matt to Life!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

It's a great story

What was one of the most memorable moments of Mr. President?

Charlotte meeting Matt and his father

What about Isabelle Gordon and John Lane ’s performance did you like?

They really brought everything to life, and I want Commander in Chief as soon as it comes out.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Their last goodbye in private

Any additional comments?

This is an added comment, I have just listened to the new Audio edition of Mr President. It brought to life Charlotte and Matt, I have two things to say "I loved it" and " When is Commander in Chief coming in Audio downloads" .
Wow I don’t what to say, a completely different type of story from Katy Evans.
No less enjoyable for it, I can’t get it out of my mind. I loved it so much, but I don’t know what to say. So I’ll start at the beginning.
We first meet Charlotte age 11, waiting to meet President Hamilton when he comes to her home for dinner. Matt was with his father a teenager, but taller than his father. He was gorgeous. His hair the color of sable, although it was combed back, it was unruly at the ends. Charlotte’s first encounter with Matt. The President introduced him to Charlotte with the following comment “My son, Matthew. He’s going to be President one day “he said conspiratorially. When Charlotte’s parents send the President a thank you letter. Charlotte gets out her best stationery and decides to write to Matthew a thank you letter with a parting comment of. “If you ever decide to run for president you have my vote. I’d even be willing to join your campaign.” That was the start of her crush and the start of the story.
Matthew and Charlotte were wonderful together, the chemistry builds up for almost the first half of the book. We really get to know the characters Matthew is a dedicated man who is willing to work hard to effect change for the better. Charlotte works a women’s charity, and really wants to help people.
I loved this book, If only there were a real Matthew with his love and dedication for his country. Alas I had a dilemma if Matt won, it means no Charlotte.
I couldn’t put the book down, as we follow them around the country for nearly a year.
We see them getting closer, but finding nearly impossible to get any time together.
This is the best book I’ve read this year, and I have to wait until next year to found out if he won or not. All I’m going to say Vote Hamilton and get this book to read, you won’t regret it.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a cliffhanger

Loved this story and can't wait to listen to the sequel. I downloaded before realising it came in 2 parts I normally don't download these books but I'm glad I did
It did however drag out a bit in places I felt like we were reliving the same thing. They want to be together can't because of him running for president but to me I didn't get why I wanted him to move heaven and earth to have both
Maybe part 2 will be the HEA

DNF not for me

Just couldn't get past the politics and today's trump reality. Just not keen on American politics but also predictable story a bit.
Softly spoken narrators were a nice change too
