Learn how holding a Moo Stone centers your creative energy. Moodle and daydream. Drag your fear of writing out into the light - you'll uncover the true face of your fears, which nearly always disguise themselves perniciously. Bring yourself to the page daily by practicing an effective habit loop of free writing. Just like dairy cows, relaxed and marvelously productive ruminants, writers need physical exercise and relaxation to Moo or Mu with the Muse. Great for stuck writers!

I really enjoyed reading The Moo of Writing and doing the accompanying meditations & activities. I have been trying to write my own book for some time and after completing The Moo of Writing, I did start it! I had never considered using mindfulness techniques with my writing before and it was a game changer for me. I particularly enjoyed the Inner Child chapter & activity, it taught me to have more fun with my writing. Though I found chapter 9, sweet abundance, the most valuable chapter. It helped me reorient the way I perceive my availability of time. The book is short & sweet, easy to fit into a busy schedule but is best savored to let Nan’s good-sense wisdom sink in.

Excellent advice for any writer

The Moo of Writing is a fun and enlightening resource for writers filled with wisdom that goes beyond just how to write better, but how to get into the creative flow. The title is a play on words, the "moo" of a cow and "mu" in Zen referring to a "phrase or question that leads to contemplation." Author Nan Lundeen does a fabulous job explaining concepts and techniques that writers can employ to become more prolific and effective. Also Terri DeKett is a clear and compelling voice as the narrator. Highly recommended!
