Delightful clean read, very entertaining

Any additional comments?

This is the first book I have listened or read from this author. The author brings a lot to the table from an interesting read that has many twists and turns that you won’t see coming. It is a total different kind of read that will having you scratching your head at times wondering just what Graham has up his sleeve. He is playing a full hand holding his cards close to his chest. I am not sure I would have done as he did this could have went so bad so fast.

Ms. Boggs’s narration was good. There was one place where there was a little bit of a volume change so slight you can almost not hear it. The narrator brings a lot to the story with her many different character voices. You have no trouble knowing who is talking and what they are feeling. At times she does sound a little flat but for the most part she does a great job. Her tones for the most part are very good, she chuckles, laughs, is sad or happy when it is need. There are no background noises just a very clear, clean audio that the narrator delivers very well. She has a very pleasant voice that really pulls the reader in. I thought her performance was good, she is entertaining and keeps her listeners invested in the audio. Except for the one little volume change if any breaks were taken I could not tell. This is the first time I have listen to this narrator but it won’t be the last.

Grace is a woman all alone with no family. She just wants someone to love and love her. It does not take long for her to love this family and them her. What a kind, caring and so sweet women you fall in love with her almost from the first page. At times she is confused but always turns to God to help find her way. Graham comes across as wishy washy and at time may confuse the reader but read on you will find the meaning behind all that he does. He really is a sweet kind man that wants the best for his family. His granddaughter is just so charming, sweet and delightful it didn’t take long for her to steal my heart. His children are kind and warm up to Grace. He does have one son that lost his wife and has turned his back on God for taking away his one true love. As Grace tries to get to know the man she is to marry she does her best to help his children and granddaughter by bring them out and trying to being their faith back in God.

What a delightful clean listen that at times your jaw will drop, you will laugh and become very sad at all this family has gone through. It is Inspirational with a message you can relate to about forgiveness, lose, learning to live again as well as finding your way back to God after a lose. It is a touching listen that will pull on your heart. If you have ever lost someone one this book could help you deal with that lose. It is a book full of love, strength and so much more. If you are looking for a short delightful book that gives meaning and will keep you entertained I hope you will pick this story up. I look forward to listening to more stories from this author and narrator.

Sweet Short Story

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book to anyone who wanted a simple, sweet story. It tells of good people making the best of their tragedies. They are thoughtful and kind to each other.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The twist of the ruse (you'll have to read it) is slowly revealed. Quite interesting!

Which character – as performed by Reagan Boggs – was your favorite?

Grace is the character who stands out for me. Reagan Boggs was a good match. She was also able to do the male characters very well. It can be hard for a narrator to do both.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The child's view point was sweet and simple. Well done.

Any additional comments?

This book was hard for me to get caught up in, it was very simply told. It was more of an oral story with little scene setting and description. I couldn't get attached to the characters, they didn't have enough dimension for me. But I loved the plot and the way the people behaved. No cringing because you can see what's coming, they actually acted normally. Sometimes they didn't talk about the problems and then they would. As I said, a sweet and simple romance.

This book was provided to me free of cost in exchange for a read and an honest review.

Best book Barbara's written!!

This was amazing! I completely enjoyed the audio version of this book but the story was simply beautiful! I was very involved in the book and found myself crying and laughing with the characters! This is the best book Barbara's written (at least of the many I've read)!!! The deep growing love was perfect and the deep conversations they had are what I have been craving! Seems lately most characters are full of doubt and make wrong assumptions but in this book they actually talk things out instead of guessing incorrectly and causing more issues!!!! Very very well done Barb!

Great Third Book!

Grace is a young woman who has not had a break in life until she receives a letter of proposal from Graham Easton to come and be his bride. When she gets to Hunter's Grove, however, things are not all that they seem to be and neither is Graham.

Graham is looking for a woman to help his family and even though he changes the rules at Grace's arrival, he cares for Grace and wants to do the best for her. The question is can he keep her even though his plans quickly start falling apart? Will Grace live out her namesake when she finds out what the secret is or will she leave the family that she has started to care deeply for?

Barb Goss weaves a wonderful story of loss, love and even deceit and how all is redeemed through grace, understanding, and forgiveness. Reagan Boggs does a beautiful performance with this book. I really enjoyed this book! Cannot wait for the next book in the series!

This book was given to me for an honest review.

Interesting Spin On Mail Order Bride

Graham is an older gent who sends away for a MOB. Grace Webster answers with great enthusiasm. When she arrives though, she finds that she spends most of her time entertaining/teaching his granddaughter about manners as well as play.

Fed up with Brandon's distance Grace must put her foot down and demand answers.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone who loves an innocent, historical romance set in the west.

I will certainly look for more in this series and other books by Barbara Goss.

Performance. I will also look for books narrated by Reagan Bogg's as it is a solid, above average.

No warnings for this inspirational romance.

Happily ever after...

I just love this type of story. So clever, so engrossing and so full of blossoming love.
The father sure was one very clever, loving and cunning individual. He had me puzzled and guessing with his strange moves.
All in all, a beautifully written love story by Barbara Goss and cleverly narrated by Reagan Boggs - love her voice acting. A great team bringing the reader/listener a real treat of a story.
The audiobook version was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost and this is my unbiased review.

The Baltimore Connection

Narrator Reagan Boggs gets deeply involved in her characters as she vocalizes them; author Barbara Goss has again provided her interesting people to portray. In this standalone story our Baltimore orphan Mail Order Bride finds herself affianced to a man old enough to be her father, with overwhelming sorrow and grief preying on the household. Can her faith sustain her and help the father, son and daughter plus granddaughter move on with their lives? Well this is an HEA (Happily Ever After), after all; but how long will it take until you unravel the full plot?
