Kel Kade does it again.
Wow.
I just finished the book, and that one word encapsulates how good it is. Kel Kade has established herself as an amazing author capable of telling great stories. Journeyman Wesson was one of my favorite characters in her other series, and he shines in this book, which describes his backstory.
Nick Podehl equally does an amazing job here.

Worth backtracking...
I hesitated to purchase because I was so anxious for the next installment of King's Dark Tidings. I'm so glad I decided to give it a shot.
Wesson was always a favorite character, but this story really made him come alive.
The beginning started a little slow, but I thoroughly love it after that.

Liked it a lot!
I wasn’t too excited when I heard a novel about Wesson would be coming out before Kings Dark Tidings 5, but I felt like I had to read it in case there were some Easter eggs. There were a couple, but I ended up really enjoying the book on its own. Wesson is such an endearing character, making prequels interesting can be pretty hit or miss, but there was enough mystery to keep me intrigued to the end and excited to see his return in future books. Nick Podehl does an amazing job as always.

Another excellent story from Kel Kade
King’s Dark Tidings has become one of my favorite fantasy series. This background story of Wesson made me want to go back and listen to the entire series again. Excellent performance by Nick Podehl. A must read for fans of KDT!

GREAT WORK!!!!
A FANTASTIC look into Wesson's background! I can't wait for KDT book 5!
When I read the reviews for this book, I was shocked at how awful and whiney they were! I have listened to ALL of Kel Kade's work (multiple times) and have loved every installment! This is perfectly in line with the rest of the KDT series! If you enjoy Journeyman Wesson's character at all, this book is sure to provide some wonderous insight into his character!
I HIGHLY recommend!!!
I genuinely hope Kel Kade writes several more books in the KDT world...even if I have to wait a year or several between books! This story never grows tiresome!
