MURDER BY INVITATION

A Witty British Cozy Mystery with a Sharp Amateur Sleuth and Country House Secrets (Judith Spears Book 1)

By: Sam Oman

Narrated by: Virtual Voice

You are cordially invited to a murder…

Judith Spears was expecting a quiet retirement.

Instead, she’s investigating a killing at a country estate.

When a loud-mouthed media celebrity is accused of murder, he insists he’s been framed—and for reasons Judith would rather keep to herself, she’s inclined to believe him.

So she agrees to help.

As Judith begins to dig, it quickly becomes clear that nothing about the case is straightforward.

Secrets lurk behind polite smiles.
Alibis don’t quite hold.
And someone is determined to keep the truth buried.
Unfortunately for them—

Judith Spears doesn’t know how to stop asking questions....

Perfect for fans of Richard Osman, Tom Hindle, Deany Ray, and Ian Moore — witty British cozy mysteries packed with charm, secrets, and clever twists.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A real giggle that shows age makes us have more fun!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you love Thursday, you'll enjoy Friday's murder club
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A fast moving, water tight plot
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A huge amount of cozy fun

An enjoyable cozy mystery

Everything was pulled together in the end. I’m not so sure real detectives would go along so easily with Judith’s plans.

Very entertaining

I loved it! I’m a big fan of murder mystery, and this one was very entertaining and engaging. I also like that it didn’t have anything inappropriate it. Nowadays it’s hard to find clean content.

Story line is good

Virtual voice is the same for every character. Sometimes hard to figure out which character is speaking

The virtual reader is flat

The virtual reader gives the same intonation to a joke that it gives to an action scene, This completely ruins the immersion into the story. I will be instantly scrolling past any other books with one.

Virtual voice is not enjoyable

Enjoyed the story well enough, just struggled to listen to the virtual voice narration. Mispronounced words and wrong inflections/tone were the usual frustration. Please let the narrators read!!!!
