When his mother became president, Alex Claremont-Diaz was promptly cast as the American equivalent of a young royal. Handsome, charismatic, genius - his image is pure millennial-marketing gold for the White House. There's only one problem: Alex has a beef with the actual prince, Henry, across the pond. The other nannies in this city don't call him the Sexy One for nothing. My boss, the amazingly wonderful single father to the girl I take care of every day is ridiculously hot, like movie star levels with those arms, and those eyes, and that body. Not to mention the way he dotes on his little girl melts me all over. But what really makes my knees weak are the times when his gaze lingers on me. In secret. When no one else is around. I can't risk my job for a chance at something more, can I? But I don't know how to resist him much longer either.

Publisher's Summary
A short Christmas romance to warm your heart this winter.
Lottie
I hate Christmas. The LED lights give me a headache. I can't sing. And I get sick. Every. Single. Year.
This year is the worst. My nan is practically on her deathbed and has planned for the biggest Christmas party this world has ever seen. Everyone will be there. Lucas Green is invited. My childhood crush. The guy I've been stuck in the friend zone for years.
This is my last chance to get him to notice me. But how do I stop looking like an idiot with all the Christmas cheese at every turn?
Lucas
It's the best time of the year. Business is booming. My cousin Ada is about to give birth any day now. The town is full of cheer. And Lottie is coming home for the holidays.
This is it. The year I finally make a move. Otherwise, I think Ada will kill me.
Problem is, every time I see her, my legs turn to jelly and I act like a total idiot. I need to woo her with lots of Christmas surprises.
I mean, who doesn't love Christmas? Nothing can go wrong.
An adorable Christmas story including all of the couples from the Love Me series. Laughter, tear-jerking moments, and swoon-worthy romance all wrapped up with a Christmas bow.

So cute and so funny!
Story: 5 stars
I don't recommend this as a stand-alone, all the characters from the other books are in this book and it would be REALLY difficult to keep everyone straight if you hadn't read the other books first.
Now to the review: I was laughing out loud at some of the dialogue (inner and spoken) in this book! Both Lottie and Lucas are adorable! And, in true Laura Burton style, our intrepid hero and heroine keep getting plot twists thrown at them. This is a book I'll be listening to again!
Narration: 4.5 stars
Ms. Albers does a great job of expression, pacing, accents, etc. My one and only complaint, and I see her logic in recording it this way, is that Lucas' thoughts are in a deeper voice, but when he talks it's in a higher voice. I kind of wish she'd kept the lower voice for it all. But with so much inner dialogue going on with both characters, it was already difficult to know which thoughts were said aloud. I'd happily listen to Ms. Albers narrate again!

DNF
Lottie is not someone that I would really enjoy being around given her pessimist attitude around Christmas, and while the narrator tried her best, the voice for Lotties mom, was not very good.
Lottie also seems quite whiny for 23 years old, which most twenty-somethings have grown past, so that was another reason I ended up not finishing this book.
Disclamer: I received a free code from the author. All opinions are my own.

Perfect for fans of the series...
Love Me, Darling by Laura Burton is the last/fourth book on her Love Me series, but can be read as a standalone once you get used to all the names thrown at the beginning. I liked getting to know Lottie and Lucas, especially with a character like hers, where, due to personal reasons, she isn't a fan of Christmas. Of course, it's fun getting to see her thrown into all the activities surrounding the season, and finding out there are perks to certain traditions, such as the kiss under the mistletoe. However, since this is a novella, things happened rather quickly for me, and even though this is supposed to be compensated by the fact that they've known each since forever, I never fully got that impression.
As for the narrator, I have to give her points for adding the explanations, gasps, sighs, and so on from the different characters, since most of those are usually only mentioned in the narration. However, I think I'd have loved this book more if the voices between Lottie and Lucas, as well as other characters, would have been more clearly differentiated; also, I found it a bit jarring that a character's voice could change so much.
Overall, I think this a sweet romance and great addition that fans of the series and of Ms. Burton's writing will love to get their hands on.~ 3.5 stars
PS: It'd really help if the male on the cover (either the old or new) would have blond hair, just as the description in the book.

A Sweet Christmas Story
I'm a big fan of Hallmark-esque stories and this one didn't disappoint. No surprises in this cute Christmas story. It's short so we get to the point rather quickly but it worked into my busy schedule nicely.
As for the narration, I will agree on what others have said about the alternating POV in the chapters and having a hard time distinguishing between the male and female.. I also wish there were some pauses in there. Everything kind of flowed together instead of having a natural rhythm. Charlie Emmeline Albers does have an adorable voice which reminded me somewhat of Glynis Johns so it was quite pleasant to listen to.

Feel good Christmas
Cute Christmas romance about a girl who dislikes the holiday traditions but this year someone is going to try and chance her mind.
Lottie has been in love with Lucas for years. He’s a little older and she never thought he’d think of her in that way.
Lucas was in a relationship with the wrong person and when it ended he realised what he wants.
This is a festive light hearted story. I listened to this as an audiobook. Over all the narrator was good. Some of her voices weren’t to my taste but her overall performance was good.
Lottie is a sweet main character. She isn’t perfect. She’s just a girl who hasn’t realised may be the one person she wants could be the right one for her.
ARC in exchange for an honest review. It’s a light hearted Christmas read. Love me, darling is part of a series however is perfectly fine as a standalone.
