Excellent, short listen

I don’t know how helpful this book is for people who intuitively know some of this... but as a person with anxiety and a tendency to anticipate this book presented simple steps for quieting my mind to be a better listener. I find myself retaining information from conversations at work and with friends/family much better. Easy read, actionable. Facilitates self-awareness and growth.

Empathetic Listening

This short book summarizes why you should care about empathetic listening and some useful advice for implementing it in practice. The main target audience is the layman and can listen to it in around an hour. I agree with the significance of the concepts that the author describes.

Obvious and self imoportant

If you're looking for deep insights, or a well rounded and researched text on listening...
I would say... this book only covers very basic topics, that to me seem super obvious,
for example, there is a section on how to tell if people are lying... OY,
its goes over the most obvious tells... and that it the chapter on "mindfulness"...????
OKAY...
The beginning does have some good points... about how people experience validation in conversation.
This is a good read for someone just newly jumping into the subject, or who is VERY oblivious?
I dunno...the tone is presumptuous without really delivering on content.
meh

Political

I stopped listening early in the book. Author brought politics into the book that didn’t need to be.
