The Message

Where does The Message rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The Message ranks high out of all the audiobooks I have listened to. Very easy to listen to.

What other book might you compare The Message to and why?

The Everyday Bible was very monotone and hard to listen too. Fast talking and I did not like the voice. This was an audio on my regular Kindel. Same with all the audio books on the old kindels.

Wish that chapters and books were labeled

The narrator does a great job and the message is a pleasure to listen to. I wish that the chapters were labeled with their names (Mark or Romans for example) so that I could search for a specific part more easily.

The Message

This is the finest paraphrase of the Bible that is in existence. Eugene Peterson makes the Bible come to life in our modern times. Highly recommended for Christians and non-Christians alike.

Excellent!

I disagree with some of the other reviewers. I think they have missed the point. This is an excellent translation that would be a great part of any bible study series. King James, on the other hand, is excellent poetry. I have gotten much more spiritual enlightenment from this document than I ever could from a more formal version. I find it hard to believe that Jesus or Paul actually spoke as formally as King James, but I find it quite plausible for them to speak in the manner found in The Message. Anyone could benefit from this book. Lighten up guys.

Excellent narration

I have read through the Bible before. I have usually used the NIV version, sometimes New King James Version, but this version was refreshing and easy to understand. I would highly recommend it whether you are new to the Bible or a seasoned Bible reader.

Always wanted to read the Bible and finish it this gentleman went through it changed all the old antiquated terms and put them into modern language which allows someone like me to be able to listen to it

This was actually told like a story and each section was summarized so that we were told what was going on in that time. I loved it

Enjoy Reading the Bible

The title of the chapter are miss but overall I am blessed

I dislike that the table of content per the chapter isn't label with the tile of the book of the letter (I.e., Luke, Matthew). But overall I just love how simple and concise the words are however, I wish it was more model application it like social media reference...how we have resorted to broadcasting & glorifying our sins to a larger audience...basically more references to how God is against narcissist behavior and all the overt politicized racial issues.
