Narrado por: Andi Eloise, Anthony Palmini

War rages, loyalties are tested, and love is more perilous than ever in this thrilling and eagerly awaited sequel to the breakout hit Metal Slinger.

It's been four years since Jovie betrayed Acker, fracturing their relationship. Her decision to take King Edmond's magic, sparing his life at Acker's request, has sparked a brutal war. The Kenta and Strou forces ally against the Roison and Alaha, with Maile perched dangerously on the edge of their battles.

Jovie is determined to keep the innocent Maile people from a conflict she helped start―even if it means suppressing the Matching Bond and sacrificing any hope of repairing her relationship with Acker. Yet, visions of him continue to haunt her dreams.

Acker is resigned to aid in his father's war while in an arranged marriage with a wife who detests him. Though still pained by Jovie's deception, he can't stop his thoughts from turning to her. And Acker has found a way to slip into Jovie's dreams despite her attempts to stifle the Matching Bond. There he watches her, torn between his loyalties and desire.

When he discovers the chilling reason behind the return of his father's magic, as well as Edmond's dangerous new alliance, Acker must finally decide which war he wants to fight: the one for his king or the one for his heart.

Narrated in duet style.

So good!

I feel like there were so many twists that I didn't anticipate. I freaking loved it!

Perfect Narrators

The book itself was just ok, but the narrators made it seem better than it was. I was really expecting more from this book because the first one was so good but it ended being alot of filler and the romance was not great. The author really had a chance to do the enemies to lovers again in this book, but it didnt get there.

Loved it! Plus, small correction for author: chapter 12

This was great! I’m excited for your next story!

Just a note for the author.
Wounds in battle can be superficial, but not artificial. I’ll come back and leave a review when I finished listening. (Oh, and thank you for offering this free to the visually impaired!!!)

loved the dreams and tension

It was full of tension and deception. Left me wanting to reading just one more chapter and then another! intriguing end.

Labyrinthine and No Map

Great series. Fun listen with good narration.

However, the plot is very twisty. There are a LOT of characters and locales. A complex magic system. Multiple countries at war. And no map or glossary to help navigate it all. Big gap that kept me from enjoying the story as much as I wanted.
