About this listen
“Dear Kelly. It happened AGAIN.”
So begins Jamie Lee Curtis’s show, Letters From Camp. In the summer of 2005, Mookie Hooper— think Diane Sawyer in a training bra— investigates a girl who went missing from Camp Cartwright, while confronting the budding anxieties of tweendom. A heartfelt comedy told through letters written from camp to an unknown figure, Mookie tries to uncover the legend of the Lady of the Lake, make friends with literally anyone, all while trying to mask her errant pubes from the rest of swim class.
Written by Boco Haft and produced by Jamie Lee Curtis and Russell Goldman, Letters from Camp introduces Sunny Sandler as Mookie, Jamie Lee Curtis as Director Sue, along with performances by Edi Patterson, Jake Gyllenhaal and Kirby Howell-Baptiste. Tune in and enjoy the only camp that is open this Summer!
Please note: This audio show will be delivered in two installments. Part II, Episodes 4-8, will be available in your library on 8/18.

Cute story, too many credits
It’s a cute coming of age story. But I don’t understand why one minute of credits & opening music is inserted every ~40 minutes or so. Once is enough, really.

Worth Pushing Through
Although it drags at times it’s worth pushing through to the end. Fun performances, though a little heavy on tropes, it’s the somewhat ambiguous ending that leaves the audience to fill in the gaps by treating us as intelligent that makes the experience worthwhile.

Blackhawk Boys
I love this series & so glad each book is about a different main character. Yet includes the rest as time has passed.

I loved this!
I am an adult who enjoys the simpleness of listening to stories geared towards children. They make for easy listening while I’m driving or completing chores.
The narration of this book/podcast was excellent. It makes all the difference when listening to a story like this. Sunny Sandler was fantastic. I would definitely listen to her again. And Jamie Lee Curtis was great as usual.
The story was clever without being sugary. Lots of fun references to the 1990’s.

Read along with parent
Cute story, best listened to with an adult present that is fully engaged. One boy has 2 fathers and the lead girl has none. You may want to explain this to your young kids considering the target age group of this audible.
