lgbtq+ characters that are not over played and steady built romance i tip my hat to you author after so many crapy fantasy romance novels with lgbtq+ people being looked at for mostly there sex your book was and is a breath of fresh air with humor world setting and complex problems being solved in elegant fashion I will be reading more of your works.

I don't give many '5's

I was genuinely surprised at how much I liked this story. Always enjoyed Travis Baldree's narration, but had no idea he could write. Fun story, likeable characters, and (hopefully) a great start to a series?

feel good slice of life

I find myself coming back to this one over and over again. between the story and amazing narration, this book is like the big comfy hoodie you wear to feel comfy and warm.

We need more cozy Fantasy books like this

I’ve loved Travis Baldree’s narration since discovering the Cradle series, and this book piqued my interest, not knowing he was also an author. I’m so glad I gave this a try, as the story is like a warm hug - or maybe mug (of coffee) - on a cold night.

The stakes are low, the characters are wonderful, and the story is sweet. The narration is great of course, though I’ll admit I somewhat expected the narrator to have written the story so as to give himself some over-the-top characters to voice. Kind of like a narrators vanity project. But that wasn’t the case at all. Not that there weren’t characters with charming voices, but the author “understood the assignment”. I’m incredibly impressed with his talent, and am excited to know he working on a sequel following a different character from this story. Count me in!

Also, writers & publishers, if you’re listening: more low stakes cozy Fantasy books like this please!
