Walt takes on drugs
Once again, Walt finds himself having to put himself in debt to the head of the Italian Maffia. This time the crime hits close to home when Walt’s friend is being charged with armed robbery. Jerry the joker has no memory of committing this crime. As Walt begins to investigate and gets kick butt attorney Suzanne Romero involved to help his friend he learns about a drug called Devil’s Breath. This drug is bad, really bad. The victim of this drug is highly susceptible to mind control and finds themselves committing crimes with no knowledge as with Jerry. The DA is not willing to accept that Jerry was drugged as the drug was long gone from his system once Walt realized he was drugged. Mary Murphy gets drugged to and is hopping mad and ready to beat the culprits with her bat if she can just find them. Walt and the gang solve the crime and once again everything is good in Kansas City. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Lady Justice!
Robert Thornhill continues to amaze me with how well he brings current issues to light while providing a humorous listen with endearing characters and some very thought provoking insight. Medical Marijuana versus Big Pharma and mind altering drugs are the topics in this book. I so enjoy how Walt is evolving from his retired Realtor and Police Officer careers, into the private investigation sector. Lady Justice and the Devil's Breath is nonstop with its fantastic imagery. The characters in this book are multi-dimensional, and I enjoy the glimpses into their lives. This book is both a standalone listen and part of a series. George Kuch performs the book brilliantly. One can hear exactly who is speaking. He has the perfect voice inflections for this series. I will definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator.

Devilish
Lady Justice and the Devil's Breath
By: Robert Thornhill
Walt Williams is back facing crooks using scopolomine to control others to do the dirty work. Topping that Big Pharma is back trying to take out the lady spearheading an effort to legalize medical marijuana. The usual gang is there to help. This book lets the listener consider both sides of the drug issues. I love the Lady Justice series, the humor mixed with current issues is great.
I do have one question, when did Mary Murphy change her name to Mary Borders? (chapter 2). Then later sh's back to Mary Murphy. Just curious...the eBook is the same.
I can't wait for the next book!!!
The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. George Kuch keeps these books humming right along.

Lady Justice and the Devil’s Breath
Robert Thornhill has delivered another winner. Having Walt and the gang tackle real world problems with a bit a luck, great investigations, and a lot of humor... I just can’t seem to get enough. I love how he is consistently in that gray area between right and wrong, and I’m left thinking about how things should be.
I can’t imagine a better narrator for this series than George Kuch. He really knows the characters and delivers a great performance.

Walt Williams Investigations finds themselves going up against Columbian drug Lord who bring a drug called Devil's Breath. This new drug allows the one administering it to force people to do their bidding with no memory of what they've done.

Great read, good series
Lady Justice and the Devil’s Breath is my thirty-first enjoyable read/listen from author Robert Thornhill. Another entertaining clean read, filled with puns & one-liners. Throughout the book I found myself smiling a lot & at times laughing out loud. Each book in the series seems better than the last as Thornhill continues to up his game. Narrator George Kuch again adds greatly to the listening enjoyment with his wide variety of entertaining voices & inflections, Kuch IS Walt Williams! I’ll definitely be reading more from Thornhill! I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Up next is Lady Justice and the Mysterious Box. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Don't hold your breath
Another great book that had so much going on that you can't help but enjoy. Walt and the geriatric gang were once again facing down bad guys with luck and humour, long may it continue. The reason this series is now up to book 31 is because of the great characters and they are also the reason that you keep listening to the books, to find out what trouble they have got themselves into this time.
A new drug has hit the Kansas streets but it doesn't give the user's a high like most drugs. It makes them zombies and very suggestible to carrying out actions they wouldn't normally do. When this fate be falls one of Walt's friends he and brother in law Kevin try to get to the bottom of it. The victim doesn't remember a thing when they come out of the trance, so the pair only has a simple description to go by but will it be enough to stop Jerry from going to jail, a Colombian drug cartels from moving to the city or even a murder? Lady justice had better hike up her stockings and hold on tight for one wide ride to get to the truth.
George kuch is as always great at bringing Walt and his friends to life.

It was the last thing that he knew.
As Walt's 75th birthday approaches, his dad wants to throw him a special party but Walt has other plans. Undaunted, his friends determine he will have one whether he wants it or not and, by arranging the surprise, they almost catch the felons Walt and Ox were seeking. Almost. And that wasn't good enough if they were to keep Gerry the joker out of gaol. Plus a young campaigner for the legalization of medical cannabis is likely to end up dead if Walt and Kevin can't keep her safe. It's another tricky time for the elderly P.I.s, but with Mary there to help out things just have to go swingingly!
As always with the Lady Justice books, not only are the main story lines intriguing, thrilling, thought provoking or just plain scary, there's humour, too, with great characters, including Walt himself, brought further to life by the excellent narration of George Kuch.
This is a series where every one of the (stand alone) books cannot fail to enlighten and delight.
Highly recommended.
