Publisher's summary

He’ll fight for her. He’ll die for her...but is love enough to save them?

From best-selling author L A Cotton comes the highly anticipated conclusion to Nicco and Arianne’s duet

Arianne Capizola is living a lie.

Angry. Abandoned. Afraid.

She'd rather spend her days locked away on her father's estate than with the guy who stole her innocence: her fiancé.

Niccolò Marchetti is living a nightmare.

Broken. Banished. Betrayed.

He'd do anything to save the girl he loves, even if it means paying the ultimate price.

As the truth surrounding their legacies begins to unravel, everything they thought they knew shatters. But Nicco will do anything to protect the girl who taught him how to love, and she will risk it all to save the guy who stole her heart.

The clock is ticking as old and new enemies close in.

Only this time, their love might not be enough to save them.

King of Souls in the second book in Nicco and Ari’s duet. Due to mature content that some listeners may find distressing, this book is recommended for listeners 18+.

My Thoughts on King of Souls

I loved that King of Souls picked right back up where Prince of Hearts left off. And the hits and twists just kept coming. As Nicco and Arianne navigated the terrible situation they were placed in I was totally engrossed. And as they uncovered secrets and found themselves or their loved ones in dangerous situations I was fully invested. And when things wrapped up I was left impressed by what I'd just read and excited for what was to come.

I didn't always know who was good or bad in this story, but in this world L.A. Cotton created, I think that was part of the beauty. Not everything was what it seemed on the surface. Friends could become enemies. Family could become strangers. And you can find your heart in the most unexpected of places.

I truly enjoyed Nicco and Ari's story and look forward to Enzo's turn as leading man.

Narration was excellent once again. Both narrators did a great job of bringing this one to life for me.

It gives you a reason to believe in LOVE!!

What a beautiful love story!! The second book is just as good as the first! It’s filled with romance, angst, suspense, drama, heartbreak and mafia intrigue.

Nicco & Arianne’s story is concluded in this book. The next book will be Enzo’s story. I didn’t think I was going to make it through Nicco & Ari’s story. I used half a box of tissues. It was so emotional. They wanted nothing more than to be together, but everything was against them. But no matter what, they fought so hard to be together. The anguish, the hurt, the betrayal from people they trusted. It was an emotional roller coaster.

This story gives you a reason to believe in LOVE.... Believe in the truth of it, what makes the heart long for ultimate happiness.

I should add that I listened to the audible and it was so good! The narrators, Sarah Puckett and Michael Norman Johnson, were so great at portraying the feelings the author wrote and it really sucked you into the story!!! Sarah Puckett has always been a favorite narrator for me!!

Romeo & Juliette meets Soprano Light

This was good, I kept listening, but I think I’m spoiled by another Mafia book in this age range (18-21yr olds) and that is Il Sempre.
While I really like Nikko, Enzo, and Nora I feel the female protagonist could have been ...more?!?
I think she just wasn’t as evolved a character and I found her annoying thru most of the book. It still had good intrigue, romance, and at times very dark episodes but they seemed almost glossed over, as if an event can be washed off hands and wiped away with a paper towel. Were both books worth credit... meh. I won’t relisten or anything but won’t return.
The narration was hard listen sometimes, especially when the male did female voice (cringy) I don’t think he

Well-written & narrated

I love how things went out for Nicco and Ari. It is well-written & narrated, ENOUGH OF ANGST AND SUSPENSE, FOR SURE. I barely would read another mafia book due to the fact I am more of Rachel Van Dyken or M. Robinson's mafia books but I gave this a shot. I do love L.A. Cotton books and I wasn't disappointed trying this out. There are "cridge" moments if you are sensative on subjects of voilence or sexual assault/verbally or physcially....same as the book 1. That is expected-Please, note it's a Mafia book and anything goes...I am glad it wasn't a lot of these subjects. L.A. Cotton managed to focus more of the duities of being in a Mafia gang and the love between them. There will be a spin off, I think, 3rd book but might be a stand alone. It won't be a surprise that I will read the 3rd book.

Perfection

I love Nicco so hard and this audiobook is perfection! The conclusion to Nicco and Ari’s story is straight fire. I loved every minute of this book and the narrators slayed it.

Love the Story, but the performance…

Someone needs to review this recording, because there are retakes and editing issues within this performance. Chapter 1 needs some assistance.

Struggling to finish

This was such a frustrating story. The characters either need to be hard and kick ass not not. It’s good enough to finish but it was not worth the purchase. I guess it would be ok if it was free.
