The swashbuckling first book in an explosive new series. Imagine if you lost your parents - not just in place, but in time.
Jake Djones' mum and dad have gone missing and they could be anywhere in the world - at any time in history. Because the Djones family have an astonishing secret, which for years they've managed to keep - even from each other. They belong to the History Keepers: a secret society which travels through the centuries to prevent evil enemies from meddling with History itself.
In the quest to find his parents, Jake is whisked from 21st Century London to 19th century France, the headquarters of the mysterious History Keepers, where he discovers the truth about his family's disappearance - and the diabolical Prince Zeldt's plan to destroy the world as we know it.

My 11 year old boys loved the historical references intermingles with an exciting story. Fantastic
interesting ideas , found by recommendation will look for more!
would recommend if you like Percy Jackson type stories ..
This book is incredible! I listened to it and I have absolutely no dislikes whatsoever. I recommend this book to children who love history.
What did you like most about The History Keepers: The Storm Begins?
really good imaginative story
What other book might you compare The History Keepers: The Storm Begins to, and why?
The Young James Bond series. Though Young James Bond is not such fantasy, the kids loved the young hero/heroine protagonists in both, and the stories also reach out well to adults too.
What about Simon Shepherd’s performance did you like?
Very good story telling (though his american accent is a touch artificial!)
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Any additional comments?
really enjoyed it with our kids aged 9+ - good entertainment for the whole family
The narrator had a prefect accent for each character. The story kept on the edge of my seat as to what would happen next.
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
It was a good book and I have listened to it three times I love the idea behind how they time travel and that the book tries to describe historical places and time periods. Though these descriptions only partially are based on historical time periods it is nice to see that this book at least follows it a little.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Though not a big character Rose was so funny I loved her. The other Character I loved was Topas it is nice to have a good female character that actually has a interesting story behind her.
What aspect of Simon Shepherd’s performance might you have changed?
Maybe skip the Italian accent.
Could you see The History Keepers: The Storm Begins being made into a movie or a TV series? Who would the stars be?
Move yes tv series no.
Any additional comments?
Though he is ok in this book I feel that Jake in general is very stupid and it is bugging me.
