Whats with the pauses?

would have been a solid 5 star if there wasn't the random pauses. I love the story love the narator and the bittersweet end is one of the better endings.

Masterful!

A perfect end to a great series. An epic tale with lessons that aren't beat over your head and aren't there just to be there. Not a wasted word of character. Fflewdur, Eilonwy, Gurgi, Hen Wen, Coll, Run, Dalben came back from my adolescent memories. The story is just as thrilling to me in my 50s as it was when 9 or 10. Top notch storytelling! The narrator brought it all together on his unique spin on the characters made them all so memorable.

Sad it's over

What an epic tale, I can't believe it's all over, the tales of the assistant pig keeper and his companions will stick with me forever. I can't think of a more noble saga, a hero so deserving, and and ending that can compare to the emotional coaster that closes this book. Truly a story that could stand as high as the rest.

A good ending.

Overall, I was happy with this last book. I would have liked to have heard more about Taran's followers. Once they decided to follow him not much was mentioned about them. Also, I would have loved to have heard if HenWen lived a long happy life like Tarran. I guess we can assume she did. Overall, the Narrator did a great job on the series and I enjoyed most of his voices. However, I really disliked the accent he gave some of the main characters (Eilonwy and Gwydion). It was a strange mixture that sounded part German and part Indian. Since the tale was taken partly from Welch legend an English, Irish, etc accent would have been better.

Series Ends with a Bang

The Prydain Chronicles was one of my favorite fantasy series as a child. I decided to listen to it again largely out of nostalgia. The story incorporates many old Welsh myths to weave an exciting fantasy world that centers on a boy who dreams of accomplishing big deeds but learns both humanity and courage.

This book is a fantastic conclusion to the series. Taran has to muster all of the skills and friends he has acquired over the previous four books to save the world.

This book might be a bit scary for very young children but most ages 7 and up will enjoy the magic and adventure.
