Amy Tan's light, airy voice engages the listener as if sharing a bedtime story. The naughty white kitten, Sagwa, comes from a long line of royal Chinese cats. Her mischief changes the spirit of the cruel magistrate and future for her ancestors. A beautifully written story about why Siamese cats are really Chinese and why their faces, ears, paws and tails turn darker as they grow up.
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
It was only 19 minutes. I can't believe that I didn't notice that. So I spent 1 credit for a 19 minute audio book when I normally listen to books that are almost 19 hours long. Love Amy Tan and loved this story. I just wish that I would have noticed it was 19 minutes long. Bummer.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
I thought it was cute.
Any additional comments?
Very nice children's book.
