Fantastic and funny story told from a dog’s point

What made the experience of listening to Sarge Gets a Timeout the most enjoyable?

I was not previously familiar with this series and thought the perspective of a humorous dog as the author was a fantastic concept. The author really captured this well. Sarge is the family dog who thinks that he is in charge and doesn’t always understand humans, especially kids. You can see why when the story starts off with Tommy, a 9-year-old boy, lying to his mother and blaming Sarge for knocking over the trash can. Sarge soon gets his revenge on Tommy, but by the end of the story they make up.

Have you listened to any of Lawrence D. Yaklin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This was my first time listening to Lawrence D. Yaklin and he was excellent!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

The audiobook is very well done and at 35 minutes would make an excellent bedtime story for any kid!

Any additional comments?

I think children will respond well to some of the themes / values such as honesty coming from a friendly dog's perspective rather than an authority figure.

Such an Adorable Story

SARGE GETS A TIMEOUT is such a cute children's story. Everything about this audiobook is perfect. I have three grandchildren; two of which I know will love it. Definitely grandma approved. Also, it's a good attention holding length. A child would be able to listen to this in one sitting easily. Can't go wrong here. Great story by SUSETTE WILLIAMS.

LAWRENCE D. YAKLIN was the perfect narrator for Sarge. His voice made me smile and kids are going to love it. I'd definitely recommend this and I'm certainly sure I'll be listening again with the little ones.

Sweet!

I don’t usually read many books from this genre, but I really enjoyed this one. The narration brought the story to life and held my interest throughout. The story was well thought out, complete and will keep you listening. I will be watching for this author in the future.
