What can we say, without giving too much away?
Not much, is the answer.
But what we CAN say is that this book is hilarious, it’s tense, and it’s packed with all the eye-popping action, crackling one liners and imaginative set pieces you’ve come to expect. There’s a new threat to our plucky heroine, of course. But that’s not all. There’s also the little fact of the Big Bad, the uber-baddy who’s going to come along and really, really destroy the world. (Really.) And what we learn about that villain in this book will literally make your jaw fall off and your hair go white with shock. (Not really.)
Will Skulduggery make it out of the Faceless Ones’ dimension?
Who knows. The problem is, he may not have much to come back to….
I do love the Skulduggery Pleasant series, such witty and well plotted adventures and this is one of my favourite stories. Rupert Degas is a wonderful narrator; he really creates an image of the characters and they have stayed with me as I've gone on and read the paper versions of the subsequent installments. I think it's a shame Degas didn't stay on to voice these. Having said that, there are a few occasions where he does the wrong voice for the character (notably getting Remus Crux and Springheeled Jack mixed up in conversation, which is a bit confusing). I can live with it though, because everything else is perfect.

okay i new it was gonna happen but it was executed brilliantly, reading the next book straight after this one.
Great book, Mainly well read and Rupert Degas has done brilliantly in previous titles, a little let down in this one as the wrong voices are used in a particular scene which distracts some what. Looking forward to the next title.
Wow this is a amazing book and the the reader was so good at the voices he really got me into the story.
Another great performance given for a fantastic story. Brian Bowles really nails the different Irish dialects. On occasion he accidentally assigned the wrong voice to the wrong character but apart from that it was great
Really awesome. Forced my son to read first chapter of first book, he thought it awesome too. I now have to buy all the books and also try to find the tshirt to match. Curse you Landy ;)
Seriously good fun read for most ages and senses of humour

love the skulduggery series, derek landys books are amazing! and Rupert degas just brings the characters to life! it's just a shame he didn't narrate the rest of the series, so I won't be listening to the rest =_=.
loved the story just had some off putting moments where the reader made mistakes with his voices for example doing springheal jacks voice another character wile he was talking to springheal jack instead of the other characters voice
The narrator put the wrong character voice on some of the dialogue in one of the early chapters. It's only for one, relatively small, part but it's still a kind of irritating. After that though he does a great job.
