Publisher's summary

Brainwashed marks the explosive beginning of The Crime Travelers Adventure Series.

While sleeping on the roof of his father's hotel-spy school, 13-year-old Lucas Benes finds a baby alone and learns that the Good Company has restarted its profitable brainwashing business. Brainwashed (Crime Travelers Spy Series book number one) tracks the secret urban adventures of the new resistance, a school of international teenage spies. Lucas leads a group of friends through the hotspots of Paris - from the catacombs to the Eiffel tower - in an all-out effort to sabotage a brainwashing ceremony that could potentially turn them all into "good" kids.

This international action-packed series from Amazon best-selling and award-winning author Paul Aertker is a mind-opening adventure for elementary and middle-grade fans of Gordon Korman, James Patterson, and Stuart Gibbs.

Fans of Diary of a Wimpy Kid will appreciate the step up in smart listening.

Crime Travelers: Brainwashed is a novel aimed at the pre-teen market, and it hits the mark. The book follows 13-year-old Lucas Benes, a typical kid who sleeps on the roof of a hotel, saves kidnapped babies, and rappels through windows. Lucas and a group of teens fight the Good Company, an organization that is anything but. Racing and whirling through all the major attractions in Paris, this is more of a travelogue than a nefarious story, and kids from 10 and up should relish its campy flavor of excitement and thrills. Crime Travelers starts fast and speeds to a rousing conclusion.

wonderful story with absolutely the best narrator!

This is an action-packed novel from the US to Paris and all points in between. It is a fun exciting and riveting storyline that is made so much better by British voice actor, Jack Dundon's most excellent narration. The book has many characters from all over the world and Dundon does an incredible job of reading the story (in an American accent no less) and breathing life into the characters. Five stars for the book. Five stars for the narration.

Plot is Terrible

Even for a book for kids about kid spies, the decisions the characters make are beyond ridiculous. Nothing any character does makes any rational sense. I like to listen to audio books with my 10, 7, and 5 year old son. I was hoping this would be a good series for is to enjoy. It is not.
