Publisher's Summary

Teddy Fitzroy's back for another zoo mystery - this time it's a koala caper - in this action-packed follow-up to Belly Up, which Kirkus Reviews called great fun.

School troublemaker Vance Jessup thinks Teddy Fitzroy's home at Fun Jungle, a state-of-the-art zoo and theme park, is the perfect place for a cruel prank. Vance bullies Teddy into his scheme, but the plan goes terribly awry.

Teddy sneaks into the koala exhibit to hide out until the chaos dies down. But when the koala goes missing, Teddy is the only person caught on camera entering and exiting the exhibit.

Teddy didn't commit the crime but if he can't find the real culprit, he'll be sent to juvie as a convicted koala-napper.

Great listen!

Great fun book with a light mystery to it. Gibson Frazier does a great job with the characters. I only wish the first book "Belly Up" was available on audible.

Ho hum on the 2016 MCBA list

Would you try another book from Stuart Gibbs and/or Gibson Frazier?

Ugh. This was on the "advanced" reading for 6th grade on the MCBA list for 2016. Both my son and I found the plot unexciting and redundant. I would not read another of his books but the storyteller had a good tone and enjoyable pace.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The author goes back and forth repeating the same story elements, reviewing the tapes, retelling the story of Marge slipping in poop, revisiting the images of the stuffed koala at least three different times. None of this added to the story and made it VERY long to get through,

Have you listened to any of Gibson Frazier’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No. Not unless the entire story was rewritten without the annoying ending of the pretty culprit who left the cage unlocked getting a raise. Let's be real folks.
