Rescued in the nick of time by an enigmatic sorcerer, she discovers that she possesses magical powers and must go to Whitehall School to learn how to master them. There, she learns that the locals believe she is a "Child of Destiny" - someone whose choices might save or damn their world, a title that earns her both friends and enemies.
These are not the mild-mannered maidens of your childhood. These are fallen princesses and fierce women with no recollection of who they are, where they came from, or how they arrived in a mysterious town called Everafter. Now, they have nothing left to lose.
Luther Cross here. Dangerously handsome, effortlessly stylish half-demon, at your service. As I have inherited certain...abilities with my odd genetics, I've put them to use as Chicago's foremost paranormal investigator. My current case? Well, I have to admit, it feels a little personal. I'm helping a mysterious girl who's turned up on my doorstep, pregnant through mystic means. I can't help but think of my own mother...and if I don't help her, she'll face the same fate. Turns out, someone is trying to create an army of half-demons.
Mack might be, to all intents and purposes, a normal looking human, but she lives with a pack of shapeshifters in Cornwall in rural England after being dumped there by her mother when she was just a young child. She desperately wants to be accepted by her surrogate family, not least because a lot of them hate her for merely being human, but for some reason her blood just won't allow the transformation to occur.
A new update arrives to the ultra-popular online game, Realm of Arkon. Playing - or rather living - as his character Krian, it's not just about survival for Roman.

J.R. King's 12-year-old antihero turned hero, Arianna Kelt, is a reformed thief and wizard seer. Now you wouldn't think being a wizard seer would be such a big deal, but it is a big deal to the Wizards of Skyhall. For you see, those particular wizards are sworn to protect the citizens of Earth from all the things they shouldn't know about, namely wizards, warlocks, and all the creatures of the magical realms that no humans should know exist.
Certainly Arianna would like to blame all her troubles on donuts, the vile, corrupting food that has caused her problems more than once, but she couldn't. Well, not quite. The truth was she got nabbed sneaking a piece of cherry cobbler, and just when she thought her luck was running out, she saw the wizard, and of course, seeing the wizard got her into a whole new barrel of problems.
Full of humor, action, and adventure, you'll be rolling on the floor with laughter, sitting on the edge of your seat, and turning pages so fast the Law Gnomes will be out to get you too. Enter Skyhall and become a wizard if you dare!
I read this because I like to read what my kids read, and didn't expect to like it, but it's excellent! It's unbelievable to think that at just 14 years of age, JR King could write a novel of this depth and expansive visualization. Ron Knowles does a wonderful job of reading the book and bringing all of the characters to life. The voice of Digorence the gnome will stay with you long after the book is done.
A great read for young and young at heart alike. I can't wait to get to the 2nd book!

Our family just loved this! The story is brilliantly written by an incredibly talented young author and well read by a talented narrator. We enjoyed this more than all the kids books we've listened to previously and liked it much better than Artemis Fowl and A Series of Unfortunate Events.
An excellent choice for anyone who loves Artemis Fowl, Harry Potter and such!

My family listened to the "Arianna Kelt" books on a recent trip. My son had read the book before and was very excited about listening to the story with us. My wife and I loved Arianna Kelt! Every chapter is magical and has a new idea to it, and every chapter has a good bit of action. I loved King's wonderful descriptive skills throughout the book.

Great especially for teens, but also something adults would enjoy, this story written by a very talented 12 year old author is something everyone would enjoy.
It's a little more lighthearted then your typical fantasy read, and full of wit, sarcasm, and action.
The story, while not too complicated, is very entertaining, and the audio version of it is great as well.

Being a fan of fantasy, I very much enjoyed this Book, it was excellent. This Book doesn't have alot of in depth surprises around the corner, however the book is not lacking for it. It had all the details that hold your interest, and I never wanted to put it down! The characters are easy to identify with and the story flows well, enabling you to envision the events as they unfold. Equally as important, the narrator was more than excellent!
Download this book. It is masterful storytelling. You won't be disappointed!

This book is fantastic and I have read it twice now. Once you start reading it, you cant stop until you reach the end. Then, when you finish it you have to read the sequel!
I would recommend it to anyone that likes adventure or fantasy novels. I think even people who arent ecstatic about these types of books would enjoy it. King did a wonderful job!

I agree anyone ga ga for Harry Potter or Artemis Fowl or Eragon who hasn't read this is missing out. Everyone in the family was enchanted by this book. It is an incredibly fun, engaging listen from an extremely talented but underappreciated young author. This is pure magic!

Any fan of Paolini or Rowling who hasn't read this is missing out big time. King is the best teen author I've ever read, going all the way back to Amelia Atwater-Rhodes' "In the Forests of the Night" including Paolini's "Eldest" and everything else I've read that was written by a teen.
Why a book like this didn't get an Audie I'll never understand. King is the best teen author in print today.

I liked Eragon which was also written by a young author so I decided to give this a try. What I found was an amazing, intelligently written book that left me mesmorized and wanting more. This book is better than Artemis Fowl, better than Eragon in my opinion, and better on some levels than Harry Potter.
JK Rowling may have created the magical wizarding school of Hogwarts, but JR King created an entire wizarding universe complete with richly envisioned worlds and creatures. Wizards of Skyhall had me laughing one minute (especially when the gnome makes an appearance) and fascinated the next. Wizards of Skyhall does have a few rough spots, but the many many magical moments more than make up for these, and as a debut novel I'd have to say it's among the best I've read. Such a rare treat to find a book that leaves you gasping for more. This young author has a very bright future ahead.
I can't wait for the next one. Very highly recommend to all ages--young and old alike--and to anyone looking for a magical read. Amazingly fun!
