Publisher's Summary

The fate of Artimé is at stake - and an unlikely alliance could redeem it - in book three in the New York Times best-selling Unwanteds series.

The magical world of Artimé is gone. The Unwanteds have no food, no water, and no hope. And everyone is looking to Alex Stowe for answers.

Overwhelmed and feeling totally helpless, Alex knows it’s up to him to find a way to restore Artimé, rescue his captive friends, and free Megan from her voice-stealing necklace of thorns - three impossible tasks. But could help lie with the silent, orange-eyed newcomers?

Meanwhile, Alex’s twin brother Aaron continues to build his army in the stark land of Quill, preparing for the ultimate showdown with the Unwanteds. But a shocking twist reveals that Alex and Aaron share a common enemy more dangerous than either could have imagined...

Exciting Read for Young and Old

The Unwanteds series really has caught its stride in Book 3 and I just got trapped pushing through to the end of the book. The world continues to expand and characters develop. Very fun read for young readers or the young in heart.

Great story.... Terrible reader

What did you love best about Island of Fire?

The story line is just as soul searchingly beautiful as the rest

What did you like best about this story?

The characters are well developed and its great to listen to them grow up and mature. It is a wonderful story for teaching kids to persevere.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Steve West?

The last guy... the one who did books one and two. At least he could pronounce the names correctly. Its Gun-ner, not Gun-ARE. Girrhinos is a contraction of the words Giraffe and Rhino.... The girl's name is "Lawni" NOT L-annie

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

A story of growth, of friendship, of perseverance in the face of danger.

Any additional comments?

Someone please teach that man to pronounce the names with the country of origin of the author in mind.... It makes it annoying when you consistently mispronounce names.

Ends in a cliffhanger!

Also, the new Narrator threw me, especially because he pronounces some of the names differently, which was really confusing, especially with the made up creatures.

Awesome Story

Awesome story but it is hard to listen to a series when the readers change the characters names and voices between books.

Great Story, Bad Narrator

I loved the actual story! However, the narrator seems to have a bit of an accent. I couldn't understand some of the words he said. Otherwise it was very good.

Good book, not so great narrator

We love this series! The narrator for this book, however, was not as good as the narrators from the other books.
