A carefully thought out study on the nature of God as understood by ancient Hebrew peoples.

Excellent and Stunning!
Eloquently written in a style that offers background knowledge, ancient cultural context and applicable convictions.
I greatly enjoy when a a teacher of scripture applies contextual knowledge beyond their own opinion and modern culture. This book from the beginning allows the reader to engage in an educational awareness beyond what most encounter in a church service, yet not too academically complex as in most scholarly articles.This allows the reader to truly think differently about the scripture they have already read over and over, it helps them engage with passages they have had in their lives differently because the linguistic awareness and the ancient cultural context around the word Hesed.
On a personal spiritual journey all this reveals a new way to view the word Hesed or what many might read in our translations as mercy and reveal a deep conviction of how God Himself lives this out and furthermore expects His people to display this concept in such a way that is natural and intuitive in our daily lives,
Incredibly written and stunning in the presentation of the concept! Highly recommend it. I am reading it again after just finishing it because of the richness of its offerings.

Transformative!

Read, Enjoy, Absorb, Live and Do
While the word Hesed Is effulgent and ineffible, Michael Card has done a wonderful job of bringing us through something that is inexpressable. Please consider taking the time to hearing and / or reading this book more than once and then making a decision to do Hesed.
