Karine Jean-Pierre's book "Independent" combines her personal journey with important questions about what it means to belong to the democratic party. Her reflections spark important conversatios about what it means to have a voice in today's crazy world. It reminded me about the importance of holding leaders accountable and finding ways stand up for my values and communities.

Decent

This was a decent listen. As much as she said she wasn’t pushing being an independent on others, that’s essentially her premise and the only right way to engage with politics. I finished the book because I don’t like to leave them unfinished, but not a book I would recommend.

Dishonesty

A political revisionist story of Biden’s candidacy in 2024 and the last year of his presidency. Likely to protect herself and the administration from cover up charges of hiding his waning ability to carry out the job

Words to live by

Changed my party today. I’ve been disgusted with the entire political system and thinking about what steps to take next. Great guidance for that. We have a tendency to discount small community steps, but those turn into more steps in helping community which is rewarding for ourselves. It informs us of facts not fiction and how to get along together. Thanks Karine

Worst Of The 2024 Political Books

The writing was awful. KJT is a bad writer and her premise that Joe Biden wasn’t impaired, just old is simply not believable. It’s pretty common for political people to write self-serving books but KJT has done it with zero apologies. I read the book so you don’t have to.

So important for history to have recorded this acc

This is such an important book to have been written and by Karine Jean-Pierre in order to record a first hand look at a history of her experience and of her first hand knowledge of Joe Biden.

Appreciated Perspective

I really appreciated Karine’s perspective on her experience in the Biden Administration & her decision to leave the Democratic Party. As someone who knew Joe Biden personally & worked with him closely, it was almost therapeutic to hear her express the disbelief, anger, & grief that I felt (& still feel) at how the Democratic Party treated him. I won’t be making the same decision to leave the party that she’s made, but I also will never forgive those who stabbed Biden in the back.

I enjoyed hearing about Karine’s career path & experiences from her unique perspective. She is a great example of someone who accomplished much despite many obstacles. I respect & admire her a lot.

Anything but Independent

I was looking forward to the authors bipartisan perspective. Just another angry democrat that believes that the current president won only because dems didn't come out to vote.
