This book was good. The characters are not very likable in the story is a little bit everywhere. It was still entertaining. I hate twinkle. But overall it's good You're better off just reading the first two books!

I first read and loved this in January 2009 and now have re-read it several times--and love it dearly. I think the world of Diana Wynne Jones, but only a few of her fantasy novels rise to the level of five stars. What makes this one so special? A wonderful, interesting, practical, yet magical home; a wonderful, interesting, impractical, yet magical young heroine; and a plot that was very interesting, with practical elements and that essential touch of magic. The plot is delightful with a very restricted young lass, who has much magic, is able to let loose and find her footing, understand her weaknesses, and be herself. The magic system is delightful. (I know I have repeated a lot of words like delightful and wonderful, but it fits the book, somehow.)

I also enjoyed the inclusion of known characters, such as Jamal and his squid-loving dog, and Howl's family, of course.

Just loved it! Excellent for re-reading and re-listening.

I found the story telling was great and easily imagined while listening. other stories were more catching in my opinion and this one was a little slower than I liked but was a good addition to the series

not bad

In this series Howells Moving Castle was my favorite but this is right up there with Howells Moving Castle it was a very delightful listen.
The narrator was excellent.

Loved this one almost as much as Howl's Moving Castle. Fun characters, a great story that pulls you along to the very end. I love this magical world.
