She still surprises me and I have read every book. I have listen to many as well I prefer some readers to others but Zackman does a good job. Can't wait to read- listen to the next one.

I remember this book from years ago and this story moved me as it did before.

Great story. I love the way he tied together the previous book to this one.

The story was marginal; the narration..good.

I read the first book in the Velvet series 'Velvet Promise" which was very good. This book is the 2nd in the series . I think the heroine's personality is what contributed to my lower rating. Her character seemed too abrasive and mean for my taste. The story and plot was well developed.

need more Montgomery/Taggert series on audio!

Read the entire series only have the Velvet Series on audio. Need more! Great listens while commuting and for multitasking!

She's a cranky little thing

I really enjoyed this audio and the step back in time it afforded me. I remember Stephen Montgomery as my first love. Every man I met was compared to him. Sure, I didn't meet a lot of English men who became Scottish and wore a kilt, but I wanted a man to love me fiercely. Stephen loved Bronwyn...and she didn't even deserve it.

Historical romances have changed a lot over the years. We expect it to be true to the time...only if there is no raping, pillaging, infidelity or abuse. Hmmm...unfortunately, that's almost impossible. My acceptance of accuracy over romantic fairytales has changed my expectations. I think this was definitely closer to historically accurate than fairytales.

The narrator does a fantastic job and was very easy to listen to.

A Winner Every Time

Beautiful narration. JD has away with witty phrases and supreme plots. This is a perfect blend of action, passion and historical accounts. No not all of the story is wrapped with ribbons and bows but it does show the time period with a few brutal moments. Women did not have the rights of today. But there is a true love story and a fiery h that kicks her man’s butt until he recognizes her true worth.
