Publisher's summary

Peyton Price - Given an assignment to write an article on an outlaw motorcycle club, what award-winning journalist would say no? Not me. I had a weakness for bad boys, tattoos, and men on motorcycles.

But Nick Navarro wasn't a typical biker. He wasn't even a typical outlaw.

Nick Navarro - As president of the Filthy F--kers MC, I was offered an opportunity to be interviewed by a local journalist. I didn't accept for the notoriety or the publicity. I agreed to do it in hope of getting a shot at the 27-year-old p---y between the journalist's legs.

She had plans to get in and get out, and do so quick.

But once I lay claim to something, it's mine.

Until I decide otherwise.

Hard is a stand-alone MC romance with no cheating, no sex outside the relationship, and no cliffhanger. It has an HEA, and although it is book one of a series, no other book is required to tell this tale.

Fantastic!

I've been a fan of Scott Hildreth's writing for some time, I thrilled when he announced the re-release of the audio version of Hard. The new narrators did a much better job. It's always a pleasure to listen to a book that I've read in the past and have it come to live.

Payton is given the task of writing an article on the FFMC. To say that Nick and Payton have an interesting start to their relationship, is a major understatement. But these two are perfect together. Add in Pee Bee and a few others, you have a story you will want to revisit time and again.

That Ending Though

I have only listened to one other Scott Hildreth book and I enjoyed it. MC books for me are a shot in the dark. I am glad I finally found the time to listen because this had everything about MC books that I love an none of the stuff that I didn’t.

Nick is a manly man, not a d * c k trust me there is a difference! Many authors make the mistake of making MC fellas D * c k s and miss the mark on a MAN. I really enjoyed getting to see him squirm just a little bit. For a fella who always said he never wanted an ol’ lady. ;)

Peyton is exactly who I was hoping we would get, she wasn’t a sweet butt and so what if she likes what she likes at least she admitted it to herself. Her journey in this book is heartbreaking but admirable.

Normally I get mad that authors give so much negative stuff on one character and then it feels like dramalama but that didn’t happen at all with this book thank you, Scott.

The narration, now I enjoyed them all, I did find Peyton’s voice to be a little young sounding but other than that they all do a great job helping you get lost in the words.

Epilogue was the best part

I hated the narration. It was not good! The story was meh until the rape that was seemingly glossed over for a portion of the book. She did eventually seek counseling, but a woman cannot be that brutally raped and just move on with life. The article she eventually writes about healing and redemption was beautiful and I loved that. The rest of the story left a bad taste in my mouth!

Great read.

I loved this book. Really makes you see the MC's differently. I recommend it to everyone. The narrators did a wonderful job bringing the story to life. Well worth the price.

Worth your Time and Read

Each of the characters and the storyline made this the best read. I felt as though I was there. I laughed, I cried, most of all I smiled, the story felt so real, you feel apart of it, for me that's the sign of a good book. I also enjoyed the narration. I had first read the book myself, then added the narration and read it again immediately. Most of all the article she wrote was great, it brought years to my eyes, it was a great summary to the story and that made me smile.

Never a disappointment of

This was my first Hildreth audiobook. A difficult read at times due to subject matter but so well done. Thank you.

MEH....

It felt like the author just googled common experiences of sexual assault victims and sprinkled in key words words and phrases of survivors. the experiences of the characters never felt genuine, and it felt rushed. Rape is a difficult topic. if you're going to write about it, don't rush, and don't dictate the characters experience like excerpts from a trauma psychology text book. I think this author should maybe steer clear of this topic choice. also I nearly screamed "F you" and turned the audio book off when the h gushed over being called a b**ch by the H. this book seams like maybe it's meant more for the rare alpha heterosexual male who wants to read a romance novel. there was NO real emotion. PB was the only character I really liked cause he was crazy and funny, although I can't imagine him as being all that pretty lol.

If it was longer, I would give it 5 ⭐️⭐️

I stumbled across this author, totally by accident. He had a book that was included with the romance package, so I thought, What the heck, I’ll give one of his books a try. To be honest, I had my doubts. A man writing romance, seriously? What I have found is SH builds characters with depth. Many of his characters suffer from PTSD; and I think it is a topic that needs to be discussed and understood more. People from many walks of life suffer from PTSD and because of the lack of general knowledge, of the disorder, many sufferers don’t get the support they need in order to heal. The H/h start out hot and heavy but then the Heroine suffers a trauma and their romantic relationship is stalled. However, the development of a friendship begins. Ultimately, the friendship blends into a deeper love. My only criticism is the length of the book. I find it hard to justify the cost of an audio book that is less than 10hours. I did decide to purchase it, however, due to the strengths in SH’s writing.
