Obsessed!!

This new series is already off to an AH-MAH-ZING start! I will never pass up the chance to read one of Samantha Young’s books, and this one has completely stolen my heart already.

We meet Tierney, an heiress who decides to leave her old life behind and move to a small Scottish isle to buy and renovate a B&B. While exploring her new home, she ends up stranded on an island, one that happens to belong to her contractor, Ramsay. And with all his broody, reclusive energy, it’s definitely an unforgettable first encounter. Thankfully, while Ramsay keeps his distance, his dog Akiva, who doesn’t usually take to strangers, is absolutely smitten with Tierney and keeps her company, much to Ramsay’s dismay.

Of course, since he’s working on her B&B, total avoidance isn’t really an option. So Ramsay does what any self-respecting grump would do…keeps things painfully professional. But when something goes wrong? Ramsay’s always there to save the day. The attraction between them is undeniable, but his secret past has him convinced he can only do casual. And since Tierney’s fresh off a breakup, she figures casual works just fine... until it doesn’t. Because really, he’s grumpy, broody, and Scottish. Who could resist that combo?

And as always, Samantha throws in just the right amount of suspense to keep you on edge in the best way, making it impossible to stop reading. And the side characters? So well written and real and relatable that you just know we’re in for some truly exciting stories as this series continues.

Finally, let me just say that the audiobook was perfection! Shane East and Stella Hunter are both favourites of mine. They really nailed every emotion. And let’s be honest, the accent alone deserves five stars!

The whole story.

Only someone that’s experienced life with a narcissist and how they manipulate and isolate could capture it so perfectly. I cried as I related to it.

Loved Ramsay & Tierney

There's absolutely nothing like getting lost in a book from Samantha Young. She transports you right into the middle of the story. Narration of this audiobook was perfect. I can listen to Shane East for hours on end. His voice making it very easy to get caught up in the story and not want to tear yourself away. Half Light Harbor was a wonderful start to this new series and I will definitely be looking forward to more.

That Scottish Accent…

I love Samantha Young’s writing and the narration by Shane East is always on-pointe! Both narrators truly perform with all the chemistry!

Love me a grumpy x sunshine story. Ramsey and Tierney's love story had me wanting more and didn't want it to end. Shane and Stella totally brought this book to life! Beautifully done.

What an amazing start to a new series!!!! I loved this one so freaking much! I was hooked immediately and didn’t want to put it down!!!

There is just something about this authors books that I just can’t get enough of…and this book is no different! I really feel like I get transported to where ever the story gets placed! She has truly started my obsession with wanting to visit Scotland!

I absolutely loved Ramsay and Tierney!! They were so good for each other! If you are looking to add another book boyfriend to your list Ramsay will make a great addition! There was never a dull moment in this book! Whether that was due to some suspense aspect or spicy times! Loved it!!

If you are an audio lover make sure you get this one! The narrators were brilliant! I didn’t ever want it to end! They both brought so much life to these characters!

This is definitely one of those books that you won’t want to end!! However I am so excited to see where this series takes us!

So if you’re in the mood for a small town, age gap, alpha hero, angst, forced proximity, found family, grumpy/sunshine, suspenseful romance look no further!!

I belong in the Scottish Isles

I will read anything Samantha Young releases. Easily one of the best romantic suspense books I've ever read.

Samantha did a beautiful job with every aspect of this story. There were so many subplots that were weaved into the main plot and didn't feel like too much chaos and kept a good pace throughout the story.

I love me some Ramsay McRae. He is a mysterious but also everything any sane woman would want in her life. He is quiet, loves to be alone, and absolutely obsessed with his dog. He is a boody carpenter who is working to fix up a b&b but does not get along with the new owner. Tierney went back to Scotland after a massive loss in her life and needed to be somewhere that felt close to her roots. Opening a b&b in honor of her parents but not within her parents hotel franchise is exactly what she needed. She is strong and knows how to handle herself and ask for what she wants from people. She also has a deeper understanding to people and never pushes if she thinks it would be too much.

Iactually listened to the audiobook after I eyeball read it and it felt like a completely different then the first read. You were able to hear accents that brought the feeling of actually being in the Scottish Isles.

I cannot wait for the next Scottish Isles book and even the next Samantha Young book.

This one had spice and suspense and a broody Scottish character to swoon over! Loved getting to know this place and the people who live there and can’t wait for more!

Excellent choice for narrators! Shane East and Stella Hunter are always a delight to listen to!

Absolutely love this book and live the narrator! I felt I was in a Scotland!
