This book was a real eye-opener. It helped me to see things outside the box and gives you a recipe for sucess. I thing it should be required reading for any business person.

What does Jim Collins bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Jim doesn't just read the book, he tells you what he wants you to learn from the book. There are graphs and pictures in the book that he is able to help you visualize in his narration.

I very much respect the value of Jim Collins researches. While I was reading this book I often thought I was re-reading Good to Great. Many exemples and conclusions were the same. The subject title is the same. If you read one of these books, there's no need to read the other.

As always, Jim Collins never fails to deliver an amazing book, well researched and provocative. My biggest take away is how to act in times of big change and uncertainty. Technology seems to be making everything more volatile. This book gives you a Northstar and I must say I was quite surprised. As AI makes everything faster, better, cheaper, I expected the counter to be more overwhelming, but I was happily surprised to know that the counter so all this technology is being more human, more strategic, more profound. Even though a lot of the examples come from companies that are a few years old, the shocks they experienced were nothing short of civilizational-level disruption - and they thrived in that multiverse of dangers and opportunities not by changing constantly bit by digging down on what works. Super counterintuitive. Definitely a great book for the age of AI.
