Gretchen Rubin has been a big part of my psychological life ever since "The Happiness Project" burst on the scene in 2009. I've said often that if I'd known about her Four Tendencies and realized that I'm an Obliger when I was about 12 years old (I'm now 73), that knowledge would have CHANGED MY LIFE. Well, in this short-ish book Gretchen applies her ideas on the tendencies and on habit formation to the challenges of big projects. As I listened I kept saying, "I know that!! I know that!" Yes, I know that the best time to start is RIGHT NOW. Yes, yes, yes. I don't need new idea--I need nudges. Gretchen is so engaging, and she has so many illustrations drawn from real life, that you can't resist her wisdom. She isn't just re-hashing her old ideas, to be very clear. She's re-casting and re-applying her excellent insights to this specific area of endeavor. And I'm here for it!
