WINNER OF THE 2025 KINDLE BOOK REVIEW AWARD FOR HORROR/SUSPENSE

For Tyler Clayton it was supposed to be a routine prisoner transfer on a routine night. The only out of the ordinary thing was the last minute addition to the bus’s mix of eclectic prisoner and guard characters.

Archie Knox is an old school gangster, a throwback celebrity criminal whose reach is wide enough to cause ripples the size of tidal waves that could drown Clay & those he cares about. A reach that stretches to his cold hearted and vicious granddaughter and her plans for a rescue operation.

Once enough strings are pulled and palms greased the transfer bus is redirected out onto the desolate Bleak Peak Moors. The scene is set to extract Knox, but no amount of careful planning could have predicted what they were about to run into.

Cut off from the world and stranded in the middle of nowhere this band of opposites are going to have to find a way to work together if they ever want to see the morning sun rise again. But with ulterior motives and hidden agendas muddying the waters Clay is going to find that he is in for the fight of his life just to avoid dying, or something far worse.

Out on the moors, everyone is fair game.

Listened to this Triology offered free on Audible narrated by Virtual Voice. It was the Free part and intro Blurb about the story that made me try this. The Books may be free but my time is not. The Story drew me in and although not great at times I liked the characters and went through the Trilogy quickly. These books were read with Virtual Voice. Virtual Voice is by no means as good as talented narrator but after the first 5 minutes you get used to it. I assume the author although having many books on Audible is self publishing or just doesn’t have the money for a professional narrator. The Trilogy was not bad via Virtual Voice and I enjoyed it. No doubt a good narrator would have made it even better. I rated the Trilogy as a 4 but it’s really more of a 3.75. That’s a pretty good Score compared to the majority of horror books I’ve paid for on Audible never mind Free books.
Matt Drabble, the author whom I’ve never heard of before has multiple Horror Books on Audible and I’ve listened to several of them.
They were all decent, some good solid horror, and definitely worth a try.

Worth a Look and Free for now at least

I good enough werewolf tale. Has all the trappings if most werewolf stories. It is well written and the story moves along at a pace that will not leave you distracted. Just enough characters as to be bottom many. And the virtual voice being British is tolerable.

Decent and predictable

Probably one of my new favorite authors for sure! Vampire and werewolf and ghost that is what’s up

Awesome

this book i must confess started slow but omg wow when it got rolling you could literally see it. if they could make a theatrical version true to the every detail of this book it would be on the top of my favorite werewolf movies/novels ever!!! you immediately attach yourself to characters and care about what happens to them and how they will survive the night 🌙 and all that was happening to them. there is dread upon every turn and you feel like its you and wonder how you will survive the chaos!!! one of my top 3 werewolf novels I've experienced since discovering audio book titles

unexpected Amazing tale

The story was great and some of the characters were memorable. Once everything got going and that happened quickly, it became action packed. The werewolves were the real stars of this story to me, especially due to their violence and lack of remorse. Some of the characters were irrational and even at times I’d say irritating. Other than that this was one of the best werewolf stories I’ve heard.

Loved the Werewolves!

I’ll keep this brief. I did enjoy the story and the cast of characters. However, I feel I would’ve enjoyed the characters(and the overall book) more if not for virtual voice narration. I get it, you want your book in audio form but don’t want to spend a lot of money on narration. Well, because it’s obviously an audio book, narration is hugely important. The emotionless virtual voice just really undermines this book, and that’s a shame. I just found myself constantly grimacing at the lack of emotion and wishing for more.

Enjoyable, But…..

This was a fun read, and I golfed it down pretty fast. I liked that the characters had more of a darker contrast to some of the other wolf books that I've been reading that concentrate on silly teen protagonist. I have to admit not to be a spoiler, but Clay is probably one of the worst characters I've ever read. He unwittingly is really lucky but made some really serious. Silly actions that made no sense particularly one of the older characters killed for absolutely no reason after abducting him it was really strange killing the character made sense at the time as to hide their position, but the initial motivations for doing some of the stuff this guy did just was really bizarre.. It was almost like an a rush Red. Also one other thing that really boggle mine is how many times characters in this book know that werewolves are real now and keep acting like they don't understand that it's happening, even after losing people around them. It was really insane. I don't mean to crap on it. I know I'm probably spoiled from omnibus of other series, but definitely nice effort.

Nice different werewolf story but frustrating in some areas.

I really enjoyed the story! Great writing but it was read by Ai and you can tell!
It was free so I’m not upset but what makes me mad is if it was read by a person ide be happy to shell out a credit!

Spring for a narrator!

This story has tons of action, intrigue & twists.

If they had a Real Person narrating, it could Fly High. The virtual narrator wasn’t terrible, but I can imagine how with a quality narrator it would be Perfect!

The story is easy to fall into. Lots of action and enough gore to make me happy. Easy decision to add it to my Favorites!

Really good

Would not recommend. Tooo much talking, to many characters, to boring, not enough wolf action.

Just no
