The Werewolves of Jacksonville County

In the secluded mountains of Jacksonville County, Virginia, a covered bridge stretches across the Bellamont River. No one has crossed the bridge in twenty years. Some people believe that gigantic werewolves with retractable claws and razor-sharp fangs live on the other side. Would you have the courage to cross the bridge? On a warm August night, three teenagers, Jared Baker, Harold Prioleau, and Chase Avignone make a trip to the covered bridge. But only Harold and Chase return home. What happened to Jared? Chase Avignone is a high school football star with a secret. He's bigger, faster, and stronger than everyone else on the field. Why? Is he taking steroids? Human growth hormone? Or is there some other reason why he's such a beast on the gridiron? When Jacksonville police detectives Logan Michaels and Cai Nguyen delve into Jared's disappearance, their investigation leads them to Chase Avignone and his shocking secret. Are the werewolves of Jacksonville County real or are they just an urban legend? You'll have to cross the bridge to find the truth.

Horrible performance…

The story was okay and even had some great parts. Loved the take on the werewolves, but the computer generated narration was hard to get past. It reads about two to four words pause then two to four more words. The inflection on the words didn’t really change much either. So driving and telling the person to hit the break now, now, now was not exciting. The narrative really doesn’t help this story at all.

Happy to say, AI can't replace human actors for storytelling!

Engaging, creative story overshadowed by a lifeless, monotonous voice. Clever writing. Good story, though, I would read more by this author.

I liked the original idea and story. I thought it might be setting itself up for a sequel. I think the author has a promising future.

A different take on the werewolf genre, started a little scary and then just became ridiculous but I liked it.

It was good It has some realism to people

It was good it had some realism to people always wanting to be an authority. I don't want to sound cliche but, your average who's the boss? story. Where people are not allowed to have self defense, their is no Declaration Of Independence as in the Civil war. These two groups are confused about their relationship, how to have territory, what is right and what is wrong. These and many more are always lost in how things happened as if their is a greater story here. It was alright, It could have been better. The ending was awful, and the challenge to ones own privacy and rights is at question that was never answered. It just seems as if you don't dislike these people( police) they dont know how to handle it, they believe your weak and dislike you. It antagonizes you to engage, then your wrong cliche story line. Inxs---Listen like thieves is a good song, reflectively like a game show host on the physics radio. Their losing touch when the lights go out, listen like thieves for answers.
I cant help but think the government on private property is illegal and vigilantism. On that note it seems like people are lost in their wrongs to the point that its a living war. their is no right no wrong everything is a game show on the radio. Some commander who doesnt belong on private property or doing whatever he wants to do and law enforcement with the government being so lost they are wrong to start with. Their are many issues with in this story that could have made the story more interesting, what came before? I can see the confusion of situations never being addressed. Their is no justice despite cases of law that are already recorded, some where in here cases of law are inconvenient and put aside until it sounds like a game show on the radio. And that writing this is long and not the way other people see it, I should have no right to write my opinion though I am doing no harm in doing so. Who is on the radio?
