Excellent Audio Book!

A story set in the Wild. The story sucks you in, and you’ll find yourself rooting for the good guys. Don’t want any part of these woods.

GREAT story with an even better meaning behind it...

Not only was this book SO engagingly amazing that I listened to it without stopping once, but the author's note at the end....brought me to tears that I'm still wiping away from my eyes as I wroite this. What a powerful story. Thank you so much for everything you've done for us and continue to do with these amazing books Mr. Hoover!!!!

Good lil read

Good book interesting enough plot and lots of good suspense. The pace was pretty good up until the end too were it good a little rushed. Also a few times the narrator could be hard to follow as sometimes he picked the same voice for two characters making it harder to tell who was speaking at some points.

Good stuff

I liked the detail and accuracy of the Marine/Afghan deployment and the setting was well described and detail of Maine. I do wish we had more encounters or suspense with the creature.

This was a really unique and interesting book and I want to find more of whatever genera this is.

Fantastic!

Great horror story! And the narration was incredible. It made the characters come to life, and their situation dire.

While the Prologue almost made me stop listening (I do not like anything war related), I gave it a chance and was not disappointed. It kept me in the edge of my seat, and I could not stop listening, staying up till 3am to finish!!

Yes, there were a few inconsistencies (like it being hot in the mid 80s one day to suddenly sleeting the next few), but it wasn’t enough to make me stop. Also, I was left questioning…doesn’t our military get survival training?? These guys, at times, seem to easily get beaten down and not knowing what to do. But, maybe I’m wrong.

And I appreciated the author’s note at the end.

This has been added to my favorites list. Highly recommend!
