Publisher's summary

The Grimm brothers are at their wit’s end. Not even they could have written a tale with such a dark turn, but there it was staring them in the face, tearing their beloved families apart.

When last we saw our heroes, they were separated by Queen Amanda’s death wish - some stuck in permanent wolf form and spread across the world. They have reached a dead end, but they have one last person to turn to. It’s dangerous and might cost them their lives, but there is no other option. The remaining members of the hidden Black Forest kingdoms seek out the descendant of the powerful Snow Queen - the Huntress - to find their missing family members.

Evil lurks around the corner more powerful than ever, seeking its time to strike. They must act fast or lose everything they’ve worked for.

Just when all hope seems list, the fabled Jack Frost, the descendant of the original Kai, locates the Huntress, the woman everyone put their faith and hope into - but was it all a mistake? The Huntress has her own past riddled with pain and suffering caused by the magical wolves of the Black Forest. Can she put aside her vendetta to save humanity, or will she exact her revenge upon them before they have the chance to rid the world of ultimate evil?

Danger everywhere!

Oh, my goodness but this series is getting better and better! It's also getting more complex and rich with new characters introduced, as well as old characters that, in this episode, have the names from their other lives. Fascinating! This story begins as the death wish of Queen Amanda turns most everyone into permanent wolf form, leaving the heroes in search of their family members spread in every corner of the world. Their only hope is to track down the Huntress, to find their family members as wolves. There is a lot more gore and darkness, which is a welcome addition and the relationships we've followed since the beginning continue to evolve. And the Huntress has her own issues as she comes to understand who is on her side. The story takes a turn when the real Anabelle shows her face. I'm not sure what to believe with her character, since she appears to hold the key, but she just might be someone other than who she has pretended to be. We're left with more questions than answers as we head into the final chapter.
Sarah Lawson was very effective with her narration. She voiced each of the characters with good inflection and the perfect pace. With so many characters, she was able to differentiate them for the listener and it was easy to recognize each one.

Engaging Retelling of a Fairytale

I enjoyed book 6 of "The Grimm Brothers' Guide to Sociopathic Princesses" very much. Two new paranormal characters were introduced, Jack Frost and The Huntress. The story was almost non-stop action. Things have reached a boiling point between the Black Forest Kingdoms and their nemesis, and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. This series kept getting better and better with each subsequent book. The series started out with wolf-shifters and has added a multitude of fantasy creatures such as ogres, fairies, dragons, unicorns and also has paranormal beings such as witches and time-travelers. Sarah Lawson's narration was fine, but at times was a little strident in her oration. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Fantastic & So Addictive! Huntress & Jack Frost

Parents- PG-PG13 - this is acceptable for preteens and up
Language- None
Violence- PG13- normal to genre, nothing overly graphic
Sexual Content- PG - normal cozy romance with kissing and snuggles, no bedroom scenes to warn of

I really love this series! It continues to keep me hooked and wanting more. This author really does an excellent job of character and world building, making the characters relatable/likeable, lots of action, adventure, and a very original twisted fairy tale plot with some mystery and enough twists and turns that make it difficult to put down. They really need to be read in order and it's a fun enough series that it is one that I will relisten to again. I really enjoyed the huntress side of this book- head strong and a bit of an avenging angel, she was a lot of fun to follow through this part of the adventure. I'm on to last book and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Narrator- 4⭐ Does a great job with the differentiations and acting, I did feel like the normal speaking rate was at 1.2x speed.
