Should have sampled first

I bought this book after listening to an interview the author gave. She was interesting and had a great story of forgiveness and redemption. I only wish she would write like she speaks. When nonfiction authors use phrases like "dance in the sun drenched meadow of redemption" (not her exact words) I want to gag. Maybe because I am a to-the-point person I want to read to-the-point books. I'm sure she gave great advice on forgiveness and I still admire her greatly for her testimony, but I only made it halfway through the book. It was too melodramatic for my taste.

Worth the Read

If you're struggling with forgiveness of others over some really difficult issues then this is the text book to move towards healing. We each have to do the work to heal, to forgive. Lysa's book helps you do just that.

Highly recommend

I cried, laughed, and acknowledged so much throughout the entire book because it felt so personal and real. Appreciate Lysa’s transparency because no matter your background, faith, beliefs we are all human and have moments or weakness- this book made me feel less guilty and hopeful.

A Must

This was so good that I ordered the DVD and study guide. I need more work in this area and will also lead a small group through this too.

Love this book. It is so powerful and wonderful. If you are looking for a book this is the one.

A hard one but worth every second!!!

It took me three times starting this book to actually get through it. Forgiving is so hard sometimes, especially when you still carry the trauma. Yet God does command us to forgive others and that is the HARDEST thing for me, still. I don't have issues forgiving for the small stuff. It is the BIG issues, the ones no one talks about (bc I know it's not only me), that are so very hard to forgive. However, Christ forgave us and even paid the price for our sins, so no wonder we are called to forgive! This book leaves no stone unturned when it comes to forgiveness in the Bible. Lisa is a phenomenal author! I highly recommend this book!

Wonderful book

Lisa TerKeurst’s honesty and graces towards herself and others (and the grace she encourages you to have towards yourself) are truly incredible and inspiring. Although it was a challenging book that could be hard to listen to at times this book pushed and challenged me in gentle ways, counseling me and guiding me towards my next steps. It was a rewarding book, and I would encourage anyone to get it, listen to it and then relisten to it. It helped me with both the big and small, and I am confident that I still have much to learn from Lisa TerKeurst in my next relisten.

Amazing Life Assist

Lysa gave raw, heartfelt insight into her life while shedding light on the struggles we, as women, often face. She spoke knowledgeably, so much so It was as if she was reading my life. In her discussion of pain we face and uncertainty of our carnality as it pertains to God, her words were enlightening and empowering. From a woman who’s faced many battles, as most of us have, I thank and appreciate you Lysa.

Essential read when you feel you need closure or answers

This book hits HOME many times. Through divorce, forgiveness, needing closure or answers - this helps guide you to a path you didn’t think to take. GREAT read!
