With its revolutionary fly-by-wire technology, the C-500 had become the freight airframe of choice. Until a routine delivery goes horribly wrong.

Falling like a stone from six miles up, a brand new C-500 crashes in central France, killing two pilots aboard. When French officials take over this highly public investigation, they call in the best there is: they call Frank "Jammer" Davis.

A retired U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, Davis is part of the NTSB's "go-team". With a reputation for getting things done - and for steamrolling anyone who gets in his way - Davis starts to dig.

But just as Davis starts his investigation, news of the crash is overshadowed by a more spectacular disaster: suicide bombers attack oil refineries worldwide, sending governments and financial markets into a tailspin.

A relentless Davis keeps investigating, but uncovering the cause of the crash, and its terrifying connection to this worldwide disaster, reveals a conspiracy of unthinkable proportions - a conspiracy he might not be able to stop.

Jammer Davis won't stop until he gets answers - or until somebody stops him from getting answers.

Love JD and Sorenson dynamic. Met them in DS stories and hopefully they will continue together. Jennifer is welcome distraction for JD as he is such a force as the hero, and not so much as a dad. The story being based on a need for physical acceptance by a terrorist vice revenge or religious fervor was a surprise.

I was looking for a book about an airplane mystery. This was recommended to me after very much enjoying Airframe, which is the best book in that very specific genre, imo. The investigation portion of the book was good, but the main character comes off arrogant more than inquisitive. There is a lot of pro-US government stuff which is not my thing, but it was expected. The part about about the plane had potential and it was an interesting, if inconsequential, book.

A solid concept but more political than expected

Loved this exciting thriller and mystery from beginning to end. The plot is a page from today's global business and political dramas. The characters just came alive from the narration. Highly recommend this book!

Could it really happen?
