Very short session of about 10 mins session..

Very sorry session, even though it said 1hr audio. The substance is about 10mins followed by continues music..

A bad joke

This is a bad joke - si tu quires hablar en Espanol: un fraude. Don't waste your money on this.

VERY SHORT HYPNOSIS - DO NOT PAY FOR IT!!

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I liked the tempo and voice of the hypnotist and if there had been more (a lot more) substance to this book than 11 minutes of a hypnotic session, my review could have been much better. As it stands I would not recommend this book unless it's free!

What was most disappointing about Linda Hall’s story?

How short and superficial the session was. The entire hypnosis session from the beginning relaxation process to the end wake up count was about 11 minutes. The first chapter just introduces the Audible book, the second chapter has the hypnotic session and then 49 more minutes of repetitious relaxation music - not needed and the hypnotist has already brought you completely awake at the end of the first 11 minutes.

Would you be willing to try another one of Tom McBride’s performances?

Yes he has a soothing hypnotic voice and good tempo... it's easy to get lost in his voice and follow his lead into self-hypnosis. (BTW.. all hypnosis is self-hypnosis). Was the session longer and more detailed, I believe it would have allowed almost any listener to go very deep and get tremendous benefit.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Fluent in Spanish?

Remove everything except the 11 minutes of hypnosis led by Tom McBride. I might also add the music before for a couple of minutes with some deep breathing - then a good 30 - 40 minute detailed session - and a slow wake up gradually bring up the volume of the background music as the hypnotist's voice fades.

Any additional comments?

It is so disappointing so see such potential and only get a miniscule (virtually worthless) taste. I do not recommend the purchase of this book any more than I would recommend a 200 page written book with one 15 page chapter and the rest blank or nonsensical letters... amounts to the same thing!

I have been studying Spanish for a few months, and have found the process a little overwhelming. All of the new vocabulary and grammar rules...it's a lot to remember. I've been feeling discouraged lately, especially since it's hard to see my progress as I don't have any Spanish-speaking friends yet. However, after one time with this hypnosis session, I felt my inspiration for learning the language coming back.

It's like this session pulled out of me what I was quickly forgetting...that I want to speak to people in their own language. That I want to expand my mind, explore another language - think in another language. I was getting bogged down in the details of Spanish, almost forgetting the bigger picture. It's all those little moments of frustration and challenges that ultimately add up to making progress. I am thankful for this reminder!!

this needs to be taken off audible. thank goodness I didn't spend money on it. it is 15 min of the narrator trying hypnosis. then an hour of calming sounds. this should be in a meditation section if anywhere at all.
