Loved it

I hope that this is the start of a great new series. Initially I read some reviews that really didn’t like it, I guess if you’re not a science geek, it may not be yourcup of tea but for me personally, it was fantastic, it’s a mix of Alien , science, and the introduction of where all of our fairy tales came from.
I can’t wait for the next book!

Addicting?

This is the first installment of the serial story and definitely worth listening to. I was initially a sceptic of what seemed to be a common first contact plot however the characters drew me in quickly. This concept is going to cost me some money. Can't wait for Part 2.

Interesting World Building

Enjoyed what was a first contact story. Lots of reviewers didn't like the narrator. I thought the narrator did an excellent job, especially when voicing August. It takes at least 5 to 10 minutes to adjust to a reader/narrator you have never listened to before. Looking forward to the next book.

Kim Harrison has created a wonderfully suspenseful tale

The exploration between words, meaning, and language is delightful in this book. I hope she has many more planned for us in the future

Nictitate

I love this book! I can't wait to start phase 2. Kim Harrison is clearly a master at creating urban fantasy worlds and paired with XE's narration makes it even better. The best part is that I finally know the scientific word for "blinking or winking". Nictitate.

Great short story with good characters and original story line! Kim Harrison’s always dependable like that :)

Classic alien encounter. I like the main character. Good character development but more to come. Want to continue with this series.

The unclear narration early on is part of the story!

Pretty good story!

Minor spoiler, If you listen to the sample or the first hour of the story, you can’t help but notice the narration is difficult to understand. Trust me, that is intentional, and you’ll get later. Keep listening. You will “learn” to understand her more clearly.

Good book, not good narration

First the book is interesting and I'm looking forward to the next.

However; I will be switching to Kindle for the remainder of the series, this narrator is mumbling most the time, and at times unintelligible.
It's frustrating to be constantly turning up the volume and backing up the recording to HOPE I can figure out what was being said.
