Publisher's summary

A secret desire

By day, Finn builds houses on the coastline of Maine. After hours, Finn dreams of the hot older guy who walks his chocolate lab on Goose Rocks Beach. The man of his dreams ticks all his boxes. Salt and pepper hair. Strong jawline. Blue eyes.

His dream man is perfect fantasy material. As for actually speaking to him?

As if. Their paths won’t ever cross, and the guy is probably straight.

A new chapter

Recently-divorced Joel is finally living as a gay man, but he’s not sure he’s ready to jump into a relationship. That doesn’t stop him from noticing his new contractor’s muscular build, hewn from hard, physical work, or his storm-colored eyes. Or the way he wears his tool belt slung low on his hips. The icing on the cake? There’s more to Finn than good looks. Maybe he’s the perfect guy to share long walks on the beach and warm nights in front of a fire.

But it’s been 20 years since Joel was with a man. While he’s not forgotten how to flirt, he’s nervous about making a move.

Especially with Finn.

Love this series

I started this series with Bens Boss and loved it so much I went back and got Finns Fantasy and I was not disappointed. The secondary characters are well developed and the romance is sweet and hot! The narration was great also I will be waiting for send summer and hoping the same narrator reads that one as well!

Super combo

...of K.C. Wells and John Solo never disappoints 🤩
I love this idea of a series about a group of friends from high school situated in coastal Main.
This first instalment is about Finn, young construction worker and Joel, recently divorced man...with a cute dog, best friend ex-wife, older son angered by the situation and a very observant younger daughter 😉
Plus all the longing, dog walks by the sea, hidden looks, family drama, ribbing friends and hot encounters you can wish for 😉👍

For the love of a man and his dog.

I really enjoyed this book. John Solo was a wonderful narrator with the range of characters in this story. If you like slow burn this is a wonderful book built on friendship, and worked their way to a relationship neither had expected with an adorable dog mixed in. K.C.'s world of Maine's coast and the weather I got the chills feeling the wind and rain. I am excited for this new series and the group of men finding their way.

Fantasies can become real.

Finn’s Fantasy
By K.C Wells
Narrated by John Solo
Audio Review

I can’t say enough about this book, it was sooooo good. ♥

Thank you K.C. Well, well written words, looking forward to the next installment.
Thank you very much John Solo for giving K.C’s characters a voice, excellent work.

This book is a feel-good romance with an HEA, angst, age-gap, a few laughs, siblings that don’t know when to butt out (but they have your best interest at heart), angry kid, an adorable dog that loves giving and receiving attend and affection. Friends I wished I had. Let’s not forget the sexy scenes. ‘Did someone say HOT’

Joel lived his life for 20 years as a marry man with Keri and their two kids. He was devoted to them while keeping his true self hidden away. Like most men growing up in the 70s, they were taught that being a man means getting a good job, marry and have kids , and that is what he did.

Finn is a 25 year old contractor whose nightly fantasies consist of a salt and pepper hunk of a man who walks his dog on the beach near Kings Highway (Every time I head Kings Hwy, I’m thinking it’s the street where I live, only thing is, I don’t live near a beach. Such coincidence 😊). Finn has the tendency to fall hard for a guy, so this time around he is skeptical of taking that next step.

These characters, Joel and Finn gives me a warm happy feeling when they are together, they just fit together like two peas in a pod.
The sexy times was so good I almost forgot that it was John Solo doing the narration.
At one point I stopped and asked myself, “Who’s narrating this book, they are good.”
These two characters like they became ‘Horn Dogs’ after getting together. It's like they are having sex every day... I guess they were making up for lost time.

OMG, Nate is such a whinny twat. I really thought he was going to tell his father he was gay. Then again no child likes to see their parents get divorce, especially not knowing why. But he could at lease give them time to explain. Or until Joel pulled his mouth out of his ass.
Life changing circumstances, like family dynamic/divorce are never easy for anyone or their families.

The secondary characters were very entertaining as well.
Joel’s sister Meghan, putting tuna on the tree so her cat can stay up there long enough for him to fake rescue the cat, and pretending to hurt her foot... genius. 😊😊😊😊 Lynn, Meghan’s partner in the bedroom laughing her ass off.
A little bit about Finn’s friends.
Seb – who needs a Daddy, and he’s also the prankster of the group.
Dylan – not gay or maybe. He’s the curious one of the group, asks a lot of questions about same sex relationships and their dynamic …
Ben – the youngest of the 8 friends.
Levi – the quiet and reserve one, Grammy’s grandson. There is a story there and I can’t wait to find out.
Erin – I’m still trying to figure him out.
Noah – the only one in the group who wears glasses, is he the confident, take charge nerd, the dominant one in a relationship?
Shawn (Sean) – helps takes care of his father who has dementia.

I think I have a good idea who will end up with who if K.C. decides to do a series of six books, the only two of the group I’m not sure about are Dylan and Erin, but I guess K.C. will give us more hits of these two characters in Book two of the Maine Men Series.

Beautiful love story, brilliantly narrated!

A low-angst, heartwarming age gap romance with wonderful MC’s. Finn is a kind, hardworking young man with a great group of friends who I’d love to read more about in future stories. I loved Finn for Joel. And vice-versa, of course. Joel is the kind of character that makes your heart ache for him. He’s spent his entire life hiding who he truly is and is now finally trying to be true to himself and find happiness. I love how much he cares for his children and with how much joy he throws himself into his relationship with Finn. His conversations with his kids came across as very thoughtful and genuine, especially with regards to his (amicable) divorce and his kids’ mixed reactions to his coming out. I loved that his family is so important to him. The secondary characters are amazing, supportive, and funny. Carrie and Megan were awesome! All in all, a romantic read with well-rounded MC’s and a great storyline.

Narration: John Solo is a such a talented narrator! I loved his performance of Finn's Fantasy. He has such a pleasant, warm timbre to his voice and is great at pacing a story and bringing the characters to life, their personalities and emotions both. I loved the voices he did for Finn and Joel, and the way he made them sound so real and genuine.

A Great Start to a New Series

Great story, wonderful characters, beautiful setting. The narration was fantastic. What more can I say?! I've already listened to it 3 times as well as having read the book first. K.C. Wells writes so many different genres, but I would have to say the low angst, slow burn like this story is my favourite one to read and enjoy. John Solo's narration is so enjoyable to listen to.

Nice Start to a New Series!

This was a really great start to a new series! This started out very slow but being the first book in a long series we needed time to get to know Finn and all of his friends. We also got a nice, detailed look into Joel, his ex-wife Carrie, and his two children. I enjoyed learning about Joel and his family and Finn and his friends. The character development was strong and the friendship between Joel and Finn was a very slow burn that felt genuine and realistic.
The family dynamics were also very well done. Joel's family was a huge part of the story and I enjoyed the dynamic between them all as they dealt with the recent divorce and Joel coming out.
Joel and Finn's move from friends to lovers was really sweet and really romantic with a nice level of heat when they finally gave into their feelings. There were a lot of swoony moments that I enjoyed, but it took a while for them to get there.
I am glad I listened to this as John Solo really brought something to this story. He is so good at bringing out the feelings and emotions in his narrations and he was really great here.
I am looking forward to read more about these Maine Men!

Out Into Love

Joel has a lot that he has to comes to terms with. But it is clear that Finn is ready to be there for him as Joel navigates his feelings. I love that most of what Joel worried about turned out to be okay. And this story is a reminder that we need to be honest with people. It might not always turn out perfect but it is still better than holding onto lies.

I listened to the audio version and it was well done and great listen.

So cute and fluffy

Joel is recently divorced after his wife wanted more from a relationship after 20 years and 2 kids. Moving to a small quiet town with a new dog so he can breath is helping him cope with not only the divorce but with coming out.

Finn is a construction labor who has a talent with wood. Moving a short way from his not so gay friendly home town closer to the beach has made him extremely happy. He's not about a hook up life and falls in love easily only to be disappointed in the end.

Crushing on what he think is the straight guy who walks his dog is useless but gives him plenty to think about at night. When they finally meet and get to know each other Finn is excited to find out Joel is batting for his team.

I liked the minimal but there family drama with the son. I like the soft and sweetness of this book. Not a huge fan of the 'if they would just open their mouths and talk to each other it never would have been a problem' issue but it processed the story.

all in all will read again.
