Resumen del Editor

All the Southern Boys—together....

Truth & Betrayal

All the light went out of Jake’s life when his older brother Caleb died in a traffic accident. Getting through the aftermath was always going to be the hardest thing he’d ever done, but finding out that the tall stranger at the graveside was the one driving the car? At least Jake now has a target for all the rage inside him. Because the man responsible for stealing Caleb’s light from the world has no right to intrude on their grief.

When Jake turns up at Caleb’s apartment to collect his brother’s possessions, what he discovers is the first shock in what is to be a series of revelations, turning Jake’s world upside down. New knowledge brings fresh pain and anguish.

Jake isn’t the only one who’s hurting....

Pride & Protection

What happens when an out-and-proud bear moves to a small Tennessee town, and takes a shine to the closeted cop?

Fireworks, that’s what.

When Officer Taylor Cox walks into his shop, Del thinks Christmas has come early. An earlier encounter with the younger man left Del with a growing desire to know more about him. There’s only one problem—Taylor is in the closet, and there’s no way Del is going back into his.

When Taylor lays eyes on the sexy bear who owns the bike shop, he knows he’s walking into trouble. But as time goes by, Taylor realizes how badly he is torn between protecting the persona he’s created, and giving in to his desires. And Del making it obvious that he wants Taylor isn’t helping matters.

Something has to give. Problem is, it might be their hearts.

Desire & Denial

Jon has yearned for a man’s touch for as long as he can remember. Now two younger men are about to bring his fantasies to life.

Jon Walters is a mess. He’s 38. His roommates are 18 and 20. It’s never gonna work. But Lord, he wants it to. He’s spent years hiding his sexuality. Denying his desires. Hiding the truth from his brother Del, who is the only family Jon has left. Del is going to be hurt. Angry.

And then there’s Chaz and Kendis. Wasn’t falling for one guy enough of a challenge? I had to fall for both of them? And what the hell do they see in me? Because they’re not making it easy for him to say no.

Whichever way he looks at it, Jon’s life just went way beyond "It’s Complicated"....

Loved

Such a good group of stories. Good amount of drama but not too much drama.

Fantastic value and great books!

I read and listened to the stories in this collection back when they were first published and I loved them. Even though I already had the individual books I couldn’t resist buying this collection. I already owned the Kindle copy so the Whispersync’d was a real bargain.

You can read the Publisher’s Summary (blurb) for the details of each story I’m just going to say how much I enjoyed listening to these books for a second time. K.C. Wells writing is as captivating and diverse as her characters. Book one features an interracial couple and an age-gap, book two has an MC over 40 and one under 30 and book three is a interracial ménage with two young MCs and a much older one.

In my opinion you really can’t go wrong with anything written by K.C. Wells. When you add in John Solo’s fantastic audio performance, I think it’s an unbeatable combination. In case you can’t tell, I really loved these books, both when reading with my eyes and again when listening to the audiobooks.

Performance makes the story.

John Solo is just amazing. I could listen to that man read the phone book. His performance totally made the story.
The stories are sweet. Chase was my favorite.

Heartfelt

This gave me so many smiles, laughs and tears. I couldn’t even begin to explain the roller coaster of emotions I had while reading. I will be recommending this trilogy.

Entertaining

This was a well written story. I would have liked to see some stories closed but still a good series. Some issues are real life so it kept it engaging.

Southern Boys are like a steamy, summer night.

Overall this was a great trilogy. All of the characters are sweet and earnest. The Narrator did a good job although his performance is one-note. Meaning you have to pay attention because so many of the characters sound the same. But the emotion is there and he pulls it off just fine.
Out of the 3 stories, the first one was the weakest. There was way too much exposition which made it drag. Also given the fact that the story was so heavy it would have been nice to have more sexy counterbalances, but it did not. Because of that I almost stopped listening. It felt too heavy for a romance book. Fortunately I hung in there and found that despite those challenges there was a satisfying conclusion to the story.
The second and third stories picked up the pace and moved along very nicely. I have no complaints about the 2nd and 3rd stories. They were well paced, emotional and sexy. They certainly saved the first story. There is overlap between the stories in that they all live in the same town, however the stories are self contained.
Overall I like the feeling of whimsy that these stories created given that the backdrop of the stories is in the sociopolitically oppressive deep south.
Good Job. :-)

Worth buying but beware of taboo

Book 1: Jake was understandably upset when his older estranged brother died in a car accident. He was sent to collect his brothers belongings from his apartment 4 hours away. When he got there, he found out his brother had a roommate for many years for whom Jake and his family never knew. Then, he finds out the roommate was actually his brother’s boyfriend. In order to understand his brother better, he got to know the boyfriend. After 3 months of knowing each other, and 6 months after his brother’s death, Jake and his brother’s boyfriend fell in love.

Personally, I found this a little cringe due to how fast they became involved. Many books have taboos and I was less comfortable with this one.

Book 2: Del moves to a small town with his brother to help him open a bike shop called “Rainbow Racers”. When he has to deal with “anti-gay” vandalism of the shop, the cop who shows up catches his eye. He helps the closeted cop deal with his sexuality and they fall in love.

This book was very easy to listen to. I liked it.

I’m confused about what type of “bikes” are rented, repaired, and sold at “Rainbow Racers” bike shop. Are they bicycles, mountain bikes, and e-bikes? Are they ATVs? Are they motorcycles? Because there are people who like all of those but not together. In the book, they talk about wearing leather and people wear leather when they ride motorcycles. However, in the US, people don’t ride motorcycles in the snow and I’ve NEVER heard of anyone renting a motorcycle. I think this may be a cultural inconsistency because the author does not live in the US.

Book 3: Del’s brother takes in a high schooler after his parents kicked him out and beat him up for being gay. He starts a relationship with him and another gay kid.

Once again, lots of books have taboos. I could not handle the unofficial foster father with 2 kids. I choose to not read book 3.

I want to read more books by this author, but will beware of taboo topics I am uncomfortable with.

I am a huge John Solo fan. The way he narrates changed somewhere around 2019 or 2020. The first book is read in his old narrator voice and the second was read in his new narrator voice. The new is better but I liked both.

I need you to do more research...

If you're going to write about the family dynamics, motivators and behaviors of people from a culture other than your own you need to do some research. The books weren't bad ... but as a BIPOC some of the things the characters of my culture did and said in these books were so jarringly uncharacteristic that it completely took me out of the story. Instead of listening to this AMAZING vocal actor I found myself wondering if the actor knows any BIPOC families at all. Did she even attempt to talk to any BIPOC gay men before writing this? If so, who lied to her? Again, fantastic narration but the storylines...eh.
