Publisher's Summary

In his second collection, including the iconic and much-referenced title story featured in the Academy Award-winning film Birdman, Raymond Carver establishes his reputation as one of the most celebrated short-story writers in American literature. observant but pessimistic

the book captures the minutia of relationships between people, but most of it is negative.

Not for me

I really did not enjoy this. I usually love short stories but this was not for me. The man reading it just had no affect and made it so boring to listen to. And each story just kind of ended. They didn't really have a purpose or a message. Would not recommend.
