Publisher's summary

Romance novelist Jules Jenni spins a contemporary tale of fiery passion vs. cunning evil in this first installment of a trilogy chronicling the story of a young woman's frightening seduction by an ancient witch's spirit - that of Margaret Madison Jones - who has gifted her with magical powers over men, love, romance, and death as part of a centuries-old curse still seeking its modern-day fulfillment.

Lured into a sinister love trap that has been carefully baited with the man of her dreams, Madison Meyers is faced with having to choose between her molten lover, Jon, and a breathtaking power to manipulate the people in her life and the events surrounding them to her own whim without consequence....

Unknown to Madison, however, Jon LaVeaux is the long-lost descendant of the man who drew the noose over Margaret Jones' neck many centuries ago. Madison's obsessive love affair with Jon turns out to be little more than a sweet trap designed to lead both of them to the doorstep of the ultimate crime: murder.

Will Madison be able to use her mystical power to bend the course of events and save Jon from the very spirit who has gifted her with these terrible spellcasting abilities...or will the witch's scheme to destroy the bloodline of the men who tortured her 350 years ago ultimately triumph?

This is a sexy, sophisticated modern romance with a ghostly horror theme.

Unexpected

I’m not the type to give out 5 stars across the board. Honestly, I don’t think that I have ever given such a rating to an author and narrator unknown to me. I am also not generally a fan of shorter audio books. I am glad to say that I am unexpectedly pleased. (The book caught my eye because my deceased grandfather was named Madison.) I hoped the second book in this trilogy was available but I searched and searched. I guess it has not been released yet. I will be looking forward to it..

Very disappointing.

Not worth the read. The main character is whiny, needy, annoying and dumb and just makes women look bad. it's very slow to get only somewhat interesting. It keeps you trying to figure out WTH is going on in the story and when it's happening.
