Publisher's Summary

Cathy Marie Hake, best-selling author of Fancy Pants, delivers a poignant romance set in 1891 Texas. Miss Hope Ladley believes God wants her to cook and clean for grieving widower Jacob Stauffer. But when Jacob hires the cheerful dynamo, he can't imagine the profound effect she'll have on his frightened sister, his motherless daughter, and on his own tender heart - or how much they'll all miss her if she leaves.

    "Delightful Character"

I really enjoyed Hope, who was true to her name. This was quite an uplifting story with lots of information making me want to research German immigrants to that region. I wasn't sure of what religious group they might have been affiliated with (i.e. Mennonite, Lutheran,...?). They probably said and I just missed it. The narrator was quite good too.

Actually, it is Jennifer, not Michael. I enjoy a variety of books but am drawn to romantic historical fiction with a Christian message.

    "Forevermore"

This was an encouraging and delightful story. I want to be more like Hope, the main character. She was so full of energy and always looked at the glass as half -full. She could find a blessing in any situation. Everyone could benefit from her example. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and finished it in 2 days. Jennifer

    "Great pick for listening"

Good book with exciting twist and turns. Good option for a chirstian fiction author and that's why I am going to try another one of her books.

    "Delightful book"

I loved this book... Even the second time around! I had listened to it some time back, but decided it was worth repeating. The narrator did a terrific job. My favorite character was Hope. She was spunky with a very positive outlook on life. She was a wonderful example of a proverbs 31 woman. I would recommend this book to ladies of all ages.

    "A delightful book!!"

It is rare that I give a 5-star rating. A very, very good book gets a 4. This is our first book by this author, and certainly not our last. Hope is the most precious character, and we laughed all the way through the book at her crazy, mixed-up sayings! We highly recommend this book to one and all. The narrator did an outstanding job, too!

    "Unexpected fun"
Where does Forevermore rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

"Forevermore" is one of my favourite audiobooks in this genre. The narrator is pleasant to listen to, the characters are engaging, and the story has moments of humour and hearbreak. I would say that it's one of the top ten books I've listened to.

What did you like best about this story?

My favourite aspect of this story is how the main character, Hope, constantly mixes up cliches. The things she says are funny enough to make me laugh out loud, but there's always a nugget of wisdom in what she says.

What does Stina Nielsen bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Stina Nielson has a very pleasant voice. She paces the story well- not too fast or slow- and does a good job conveying emotion. She doesn't differentiate between the characters' voices as clearly as some narrators, but as a result, all of the voices sound realistic.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

One of the characters in the book has left her abusive husband and is being sheltered by her brother. I found her storyline and her brother's dedication to her safety and recovery very moving. In fact, the support that all of the characters showed her was touching.

    Any additional comments?

"Forevermore" was the first book I read by Cathy Marie Hake, and is my favourite that she's written. There is one that preceeds it in the series, "Fancy Pants" and two that come after. I don't like the third and fourth books in the series as much, but I would also recommend her books "Letter Perfect" and "Bittersweet" to anyone who enjoyed this book.

    "another great book"

I really enjoyed Fancy Pants, so I had high hopes for this one and am not disappointed. I really enjoyed the use of clichés, that definitely fit my since of humor. I liked how she paused with various characters' inner dialogue to deepen certain aspects of the story. The death seemed abrupt, kind of rushed, so if I could, I'd give it 4 1/2 stars, but I'd love to read more like this.

was not a fan of the main character's backwards hillbilly speach. though wise in thought, she just came off as idiotic. took way too long to get beyond it all. never really connected to any of the characters, very predictable ending.
